Guerrero should not be underrated, he not only throws a lot of punches, he will be ready for Void's counter punches. All Void does is counter punch. Void will never fight Sergio Martinez. Martinez said he would think nothing of going down to 154 and has even said he would try 150, afterall, he used to fight at 147....................He would knock Void out.................. Void is void...........

 

Mayweather underrated Cotto's strength, as did I.

Go watch Cotto push back Margarito and ask yourself the question if Guerrero could achieve this.

 

If the fight stays on the ropes RG is going to get raped big time. Floyd is not Berto and if it goes to the ropes RG will get dominated squaring up the way he does. Floyd's defense is sharper on the inside and he is crafty as hell. He can do it all on the inside. Robert is going to come to fight but what makes you think Floyd is going to be bullshitting around. That dude is not losing unless he gets knocked out and I don't see that happening.

Calling Guerrero a cherry pick pretty much means you have a ton of respect for Mayweather's skills. RG is no bum; if you believe it'll be an easy fight for Floyd it really means he's so far ahead of everyone else that he makes a dangerous fighter like RG look like an amateur. Even on the ropes Floyd is hard to hit because has good eye contact and great timing. He doesn't fight dumb so if you're hoping for him to make an idiotic mistake like Pacquiao and get KOed, you're in for a big letdown. If Floyd gets beat it'll be because: (1) RG is that damn good (2) father time finally caught up to Floyd

 

All these Guerrero/Cotto comprisons are pointless. Cotto was a better boxer than Guerrero but the Cotto Mayweather fought was a shadow of the Cotto in years previous. Cotto is a gun shy fighter who doesn't have the heart he used to have and let's stop pretending he gave Floyd a good fight. Floyd won the first 6 rounds hands down and Cotto barely threw a punch - Cotto did better in rounds 7-9 but then in his desperation to land that big shot played right into Mayweather's hands in the last 2 rounds, especially round 12 - I scored the fight 9-3 or 8-4 if you're really being generous.

Guerrero will not let Floyd coast for the first 6 rounds, he's hungry, the complete opposite of gun shy and wants to scrap and make things uncomfortable, even with some underhand tactics - he isn't scared of getting hit flush on the face like Cotto is, and he relishes fighting on the inside

Now I think Floyd will coast to a points win in the end but I think the first 6 rounds are going to be far more of a contest than Cotto walking straight into Mayweather's jabs for 6 rounds....

Calling Guerrero a cherry pick is not right but he's nowhere near the best fight Floyd could make if we're going by pure quality of opposition - but that's also because Floyd has ducked others around for years that now for one reason or another those fights can't get made now. And the whole Devon Alexander tweet - Floyd would much prefer that fight than Guerrero and if he hadn't got so much opposition from the WBC, IBF and other fans he would have ducked Guerrero

 

Mayweather does this for most of his opponents. A weaker name is thrown out there (usually by his team) as a potential opponent. Everyone complains, is in uproar, etc. Then he announces a better name. Makes the bout look very credible then.

 

Doesn't matter a bit - styles make fights - Pacquiao has made easier work of all common opponents he's had with Floyd, doesn't mean he beats Floyd.

Berto is physically a big welterweight and he was handled in a toe to toe tussle by Guerrero and was KO'd 2/3 times (can't remember). That's impressive. Floyd won't fight that way, it's a different fight altogether

 

p4p yes. but i don't rate guerrero at welterweight at all. i think he looks slow and ploddy with very little snap.

i though ortiz posed a more genuine threat style wise for floyd. He;s quicker and more explosive

 

Ortiz has no heart - he went into that fight ready to lose and collect the money, you just need to see the build-up to that fight to see "FARCE" all over it. It was a disgraceful circus in and out of the ring

Guerrero will come to fight for real, that in itself makes him tougher than Ortiz

 

P4P and IMO, H2H too.

There is definitely an argument that Guerrero has a stronger resume at WW in comparison to Ortiz aswell.

I'll take technique and skills over quickness and explosiveness any day of the week.

 

Why I'm liking Guerrero already... when asked if Mayweather is the best:

"Considered by the media and everybody yeah. In my eyes, no. There's just so many fights out there that he hasn't fought...he was picking and choosing fights. That's why I'm excited that I'm in the position that I'm in, earning the spot where he's actually going to fight somebody that earned it"

This guy is not going to be a puppet and pick up the cheque like Cotto and Ortiz, he's coming to fight. He might get outclassed but I don't think it will be easy for Floyd...there's a respect there but not an admiration - he feels Mayweather is there for the taking.
