Marquez looked really beatable and ready to go in his last fight at 135 against a featherfisted one dimensional fighter. Floyd will KO marquez in the later rounds.

Too much of a size difference and Marquez has never fought even close to this weight. JMM is truly great, but this is truly a ***** move by Mayweather.

If he does that then you have to give him some semblance of credit. Obviously I won't bow to him over it but hey, I'll do what I can.

YOU STILL don't get it do you? If pac retires and GEORGE Linares happens to be #2 p4p and pac fights him.. EVEN if pac knocks him out in one round PAC will be called CHERRY PICKER!!!

JMM is really small for Floyd but Floyd will not outclass nor KO him. JMM will beat the ass of that cherry picker!

If this fight ever takes place, and Mayweather doesn't show signs of ring-rust, I fear he will KO JMM in 5-7 rounds. Note that I'm a big JMM fan, but here we have a bigger guy who rarely gets hit and a smaller guy who gets hit relatively often. You do the math.

If PBF stops JMM inside 6, a lot of people will start saying "I told you so, this was a ****ing mismatch!"

If PBF schools JMM and it goes the distance, a lot of people will get pissed at PBF for not being able to KO a lightweight.

If PBF wins in a close fight, people will give JMM props and diss PBF for not winning decisively against a lightweight.

    If JMM wins... lol.

So for a lot of people it's a lose, lose, lose, lose situation for PBF. Regardless of the size being a huge factor or not, people (especially casual fans) will most likely look down on the fight. He would probably would have gotten less flak if he picked someone with less talent than JMM as long as he was just as big or bigger than PBF. In the end, it's PBFs fault for taking the fight.

I'm not hating on PBF, I'm just stating what I think people would think of the possible results of the fight.

6 is correct. In just 6 weeks the fight has been stopped.

OK, let's do the math. Floyd indeed is the bigger guy who rarely gets hit but he also rarely throws punches. JMM is the smaller guy who gets hit relatively often but he throws more punches and throws accurate counters in 4-5 punch combinations with more ferocity. I'm not a big fan of JMM but I can envision him beating Floyd with his better workrate and underrated handspeed and power. JMM has a higher KO rate than Floyd and if he could carry his power to 147 as he succeeded in bringing it to 135, I would not be surprised if he KO Floyd.:yep

The thing is, Floyd's workrate went down once he hit WW. He was up against bigger guys so he didn't take any risks and that's where the pot shotting version of PBF came about. Not very exciting but a smart tactic.

Take for example the Hatton fight, the reason why some commentators were saying that Hatton "brought out the best in Floyd" was probably because PBF realized that Hatton wasn't much of a threat, so he got busier in the later rounds and KO'd Hatton. It was a bit like seeing the LW version of Floyd again.

Now that Floyd is up against a smaller man, I seriously doubt that Floyd would be inactive. Not unless JMM is somehow able to bring his power up with the weight and cleanly tags PBF. If JMM doesn't get PBFs respect in terms of punching power, I expect Floyd to be much more active.
