Totally agree. Anyone who says because Pac fought Cotto was the reason why he drew more are saying Pac fought a better oppponent.

Fans will buy good competitive match-ups.

Well the JMM fight was originally scheduled for July and they didnt get it finalized until the last minute cause there was rumors that Hopkins-Adamek was going to happen on the same date and that fell through. Cotto was coming off his loss of Margo and a win against forget who it was in spring and he had the Clottey fight around the same time in the summer so he was unavailable.

The JMM-PBF fight got pushed back to September. The only person that was really available in the summer other than JMM was Mosley and that is the fight he should have taken. Cotto was still doing his comeback thing in the summer.

Miguel was never an option for Floyd. Too much of a challenge.

floyd wouldve schooled cotto for 12 and still got no credit for his win.....cotto has been done since the 7th rd of his dight with marg...mayweather will embarass pac and get no credit again....read my post on how i broke the pac vs cotto fight down and how if he didnt knock cotto out in 4 he would batter him and guess what cotto got battered..floyd is a special fighter that no one really likes now because of his defensive wizardry

Floyd didn't know that before he "retired", hence the reason he didn't want to fight him.

I still believe that Cotto is the toughest fight for Floyd than Pac even after the blowout. Pac was a nightmare for Cotto with his ultra fast and hard punches. Floyd doesn't punch that hard so I thought that Cotto can walk him down behind his jab and stalk him all night to a UD. I do believe that Floyd is going to be a big problem for Pac at the same time with his equally fast hands, counter punching ability and underrated toughness. Anyway Cotto was always going to be a disadvantage with his corner against either fighter

I dont think Cotto was an option on Floyd comeback
fight - as he is with Arum.

Also, Floyd hates the double standards everyone has,
for eg, Pac chews on Floyds beaten men and gets
more credit than Floyd, I think Mayweather wanted to
put the shoe on the other foot and in the meantime show
the world how easy he can beat the man - who beat Pac.

Mayweather looked as slick as ever against JMM..
It wouldnt of mattered if it was Cotto, everyone just
writes it off as Floyd picking on someone smaller, knowone
mentions that Floyd obviously really studied his game over
the break and has came back an even better fighter because
    of it..

But, I will say, I think Floyd knew his chances of taking on Cotto
could turn into a war - more so than taking on JMM and he
wouldve known that he didnt need that in his comeback
