If Mayweather tried that come forward approach against Pac like he did against SSM...

Yeah definitely...once Mayweather gets into a rythym throwing the straight right or left hook, his opponents are looking for it constantly, trying to somehow evade or block it. If he can get the straight right going early...he could maybe employ the same tactics he did against Mosley to find his way back into the centre of the ring like you said.

gotta say, deteriorated nerves can actually lead to the image of being gassed, because as you've said, it appeared as though shane was second guessing himself, but it wasn't due to the one step ahead necessarily (but could have been an additional factor) but mainly due to the difference in speed which IS affected by nerves and in turn contrubuted to the befuddlement during the fight. I personally believe shane gassed by rd 5..

That walk forward approach may have worked against a jittery and frightened to death Mosley who couldn't fight past 2 rounds. But against an opponent who will not gas out, who carries more or less the same speed and power, who has equal footwork, and most importantly will not be frightened of him...you best believe Floyd will take a more scientific and cautious approach. If he has the option of easily out boxing Pac with his superior reach, or taking the fight to him; thus elevating the risk....you best believe he'll choose the former!

I see it being similar to the SSM fight, I also see Pac showing signs of gassing out by round 8 while Floyd is still fresh (due to his relaxed energy saving style)

I would only expect Floyd to start walking him down after this stage. The thing about All of pacs last fights is that he has had them all go his way, meaning he can fight at his own pace. Being constantly pressured combined with making little or no contact would take its toll mentally and physically.

I honestly see Floyd winning by UD.

That's why Mayweather will go as the favorite against Pacquiao and why he's dangerous against WHOEVER he fights. He can fight that way, defensive, a little bit of both and so on, that's the difference between a multi-dimensional fighter and a typical one-dimensional tomato can like Margarito for example or others like him who cabdrivers think are gladiator warriors. You don't know what he will decide to do and if he does that and gets seriously hurt then watch him adapt immediately UNLESS Pacquiao completely overpowers him and doesn't allow him to by keeping him hurt.

He'd beat Pac up, like Marquez did but more emphatically

    aggressive counter-punching?

that's exactly what floyd has to do EARLY in my book if floyd wins this fight.
if he doesn't i think he's in trouble.

Ever since I watched the Sanchez fight I felt pressure fighters and come forward guys were problems for Pac.. But after watching Hatton and Cotto I can see a much more composed fighter in there.. Manny places his shots very well if given opportunities, and that kind of fight leaves a lot of them.

If Floyd pulls this out he will completely anihilate any chance Pac has. Pac doesn't have a Plan B against Floyd. He is a one dimensional fighter who can't fight going backwards. I'm not saying Floyd can pull this out successfully, but if he does, Pac is in trouble.

The more i look at this fight, the more i see a mayweather win. Mayweather holds the majority of advantages over pacquiao. He is faster, trust me ive looked at both pacquiao and mayweather in frame by frame videos. Mayweather has the ability to hit hard but pacquiao is better here. Mayweather is taller, bigger, has a longer reach, smarter, more adaptable. Interesting however that at 147 pacquiao has faster feet. Although mayweather moved alot in the baldomir fight pacquiao used this aspect better.

This adds up to the following. Pacquiao is dangerous throughout the fight but mayweather being the more versatile and having better defence, outpoints pacquiao. I say dangerous throughout because i just dont believe mayweather has the same punch resistance as pacquiao. Now that may become a moot point in the fight depending how able pacquiao is to catch floyd but it is still relevant. Another point i think everyone should remember here is the possibility that mayweather may be hit clean in this fight both to the head and body more than he has ever before. Who knows if he might breakdown? At the moment though mayweather is the favourite but pacquiao has the quality about him where you dont know what to expect? For example who seriously expected pacquiao walking down cotto, bear in mind what people were saying before the fight about pacquiao never tasting WW power? It's that intangible in this fight which makes it interesting.

Floyd is a defensive wizard people. Manny would land 20% of his punches agaist Floyd and would be gassed in the process. Floyd late fight stoppage.

not a smart approach Manny is a fast fighter who always starts before his opponents and he hits damn hard. Floyd would fight a similar fight but a tactically different fight.

MAnny will probably maximize his pop for this fight in training. So, I think Floy could do it but

I reckon he will have second thoughts once he get's hit.
