This has gone far enough...Floyd has almost zero body game!...I mean pretty much very small. His fights with almost ALL his pressure fighter opponents, he went head hunting. Hatton DLH Castillo Hernandez Chavez He would throw very short and clever uppercuts while keeping you at bay with his elbow/forearm. He kept the fights on the inside and when **** got too hot for Floyd he got outta there. But nearly all those fights, Floyd used those uppercuts landed a few and then threw a hook or some sort and stuck and moved. But Floyd has limited bodywork. He mainly just goes for the head. Even if you watch his most dominant performance against Gatti, you can see that he throws few body shots and numerous shots to the head. Your assesments are insanely off key. Try again. :bart
Angulo may have similarities but he isn't a carbon copy, as fiztgerald suggested there are many. Thats what I'm saying. Margarito is a unique fighter because what makes him so formidable are his intangibles as well as his fighting style. That can't be replicated in a gym. The idea that he's a run of the mill fighter is ridiculous.
Laugh all you want but name me a fight in which he displayed this incredible body work or rather "underrated" body work :think
Yo Fitz: Make sure you got your money ready to pay me after Mosley goes down. Remember your prediction: "Mosley will stop Margarito"...Hahahahaha You might aswell goto the bank now in advance my friend. I cant take any of your posts seriously after you could make that prediction and anyone else who makes that same prediction does not no anything about boxing and we will see exactly how dumb founded that prediction is come fight time. It's not happening Bruv. There is more chance of Mosley getting his head stuck in a windmill than that happening lol
Whoever doesn't think that Floyd isn't a good body puncher needs to watch him fight. Even though the commentators don't point it out, if you yourself pay attention to the fight you would see his body work and how effective it is. You catch guys who are used to going the distance getting tired after 6 or 7 rounds with Floyd.
Floyd would probably win the first 8 rounds by boxing and moving. Taking one or two clean shots at a time. Margarito would probably look really slow in this one. Just coming forward and getting hit. Then the last few rounds Margarito will pick it up but not enough to win. It would look simliar to Baldomir vs Mayweather but of course MArgarito will do a little better than Baldy
If the majority of posters say that this will be an easy victory Mayweather, I have yet to read any comments by Margarito fans stating why they think that Margarito would have a chance in this potential fight. Where are you guys at?
I retract my statement about having NO body game...he has SOME body game but it's not his bread and butter. His body game is equivalent to Cotto's defense...which is decent. But what killed Hatton and all others was his hook, jab, and inside uppercut (which I'm guessing many of you confused for body work)
As far as I'm concerned Margarito has already conquered floyd. The fight was a natural, it should have already happened, but floyd begged off and went into hiding to avoid having to deal with talking about it. Clearly Margarito's confident self belief, his honor and desire to KO floyd for himself and his country, and his relentless, merciless, vicious thrusting twohanded bombarding assaults were too much for floyd to even consider competing against. It's case closed.
