If Mayweather vs Marquez was shown in UK Cinemas would anyone be happy to go?

I'd love to see any fight on the big screen like this and it would justify me paying to watch it olt more also.... the only problem would be the late showing of it on a weekend night.... they're could be alot of trouble if they just let anyone in. What do you think?

Personally, I'd love to go but I'm not sure others would be so keen, Ben. As Gaz put it before, 'only us idiots would stay up'. Boxing is a niche sport as it is in the UK- I don't see them leasing out whole theatres to 10 people for a fight. You also have to remember that in the US of A, boxing is on at a sensible time in the evening:good.

It costs between 100-1000 quid to rent out a cinema for a screening. Considering about 20 people would turn up for about 5 pound a pop, it's not realistic.

I'll be watching it in the comfort of me own home on box office on a 50inch screen. better than the cinema IMO

My Dad used to go to the fights being shown in Leicester Square all the time. I'm quite envious because, by the sound of it, they were great nights.

I'm not sure it would be so successful now. Why would anyone go out and pay £20 to watch something on a cinema screen when they can watch it for free, or cheaper, in their own homes on SKY?

i would love to see a live boxing match on a cinema screen.

my wifes dad used to go to see ali's fights at some cinema in birmigham in the 60's/70's....it was common enough then

Its a tremendous idea but unfortunately it would only work if a big named British star was fighting.

If they did show a Hatton fight, your as well watching it at home as having one of his fights broken down for you by someone with little or zero knowledge of the sweet science is one of the most annoying things a true fan can go through.

Am i the only one annoyed by this......

Twice a year people become super pundits and normally they are Tyson fans.
Before the Mayweather fight i had a fellow employee tell me how Mayweather could be outboxed if only Ricky attacked the body in the first few rounds.

I questioned him,dug around a bit and it turned out that he'd never seen Mayweather fight and he got his 'opinion' from talksport
This for me is another reason why Ricky should retire.

Back to the point-good idea but wont work

Sorry for rant-got pissed off as i was typing that

    Definitly!

I would have paid £20 to watch Froch vs Taylor on the cinema. But, in my current financial situation I could never justify paying £20 to watch something I can watch on SKY.

thats a gap in the market my friend, i hope you have a patent , their will be frankwarren.tv cinemas popping up everywhere, or barry hearn will grab it, and take it to the nearest casino that stay open till the wee small hours, i think this could and would work, with the correct clientel (spelling?)

    memberships etc....

I would for sure- probably willing to pay up to £20 if they showed the whole card.

Last few stateside fights ive had to watch in a casino, end up spending a fortune!

**** yeah i would. i've called for this for years. i've always thought it's a great idea.

aired in the right places and i think cinemas would earn a **** load.

sell each ticket for £15 plus food/drink. I think they'd make at least £25 a seat.

depends how much the rights would cost.
