If Mayweather vs Marquez was shown in UK Cinemas would anyone be happy to go?

me old man tells me stories of how he watched Ali vs Foreman at the cinemas, this ain't a new concept but boxing is not mainstream like in the great heavyweight eras and this fight is not big enough in terms of casual interest to screen at that time, its just not cost effective as someone has mentioned.

i don't think this fight is PPV, i'm not 100% sure though

woukld be amazing always wanted to go to a fight at the cinema

would be great as it would mainly be hard core boxing fans and you can imagine the discussions you could have before and after the fight

    Bingo :happy

Not just this fight but others too !

    2 options.....

Have it be a UK fight at a reasonable hour. the only fighters who are big enough draws in the UK are Hatton/Calzaghe. One has retired, one has the biggest set of dick head fans ever ! imagine having to sit with hundreds of Hatton fans shouting....."Hit 'im with a fooking body shot" ............erm no thanks.

It's a US card at 2-4am. Everyone would be pissed. Half of the crowd would be your typical 'I wanna pretend I like boxing coz its the hard/cool thing to be into. I've had a couple of beers and will come out of the cinema thinking I'm Rocky and will want a punch up with whoever was in the cinema shouting at the other guy to who I wanted to win'

this may have been feasable in the 80's where there wasn't so many druggie ****s/two-can-van-damns/wannabee gangsta's with a point to prove !

    i disagree

fair enough but you really think a bunch of pissed guys would actually go.

if it was done right as in not letting drunk people in etc... would be good

not a lot of people i know are into boxing up here although they watched Hatton vs Mayweather and Pacquiao but they still dont like boxing

they wouldnt pay 20 odd quid to go to a cinema to see it

Pater, you saying 'thy probably wouldn't go' means you've made your own point void:patsch:lol:.

Anyway- What if there was an entry question to determine where you would sit? Put all the proper fans in one area and the cretins in deckchairs or something at the front- or better still in a different theatre?:think
