If Mayweather vs Pacquiao happened in 2010 instead of 2015 what would have been the result?

There’s a reason Floyd avoided the fight until Pac was obviously a lesser version. Pac by KO.

I think both had a hand in delaying the fight for so long. You're telling me Mayweather can make a boxing match with a MMA fighter happen but not the second biggest star in his own sport whenever he wants?

I think Floyd felt the same way you do.

Hence, the sudden urge, out of the blue, to "clean up the sport."

Regardless of how the fight might actually have went, there is no doubt whatsoever that Floyd feared Pac.

And given how Pac dealt with Hatton and Cotto, he had good reason to.

Mayweather would have won, just like he did when they actually fought

Too bad he didn't have your confidence then in 2010.

We would have witnessed an epic bout whichever of them prevailed.

Floyd would have always beaten Pac… it’s a bad style matchup for Manny. Manny does not do well against counterpunchers with a great right hand counter. See JMM for further reference.

Would it have been more competitive in 2010? Absolutely… but Floyd was great at what he did and he was a very smart and adaptable fighter.

That is certainly a possible result.

But the Pac that Floyd eventually fought and beat (8 - 4) was a much diminished fighter from the one who had just destroyed Oscar, Ricky and Miguel.

There's a reason Floyd got cold feet.

That would be incredibly far fetched. Floyd couldn't level glass jaw Ortiz cold with 2 free shots. Pac was packing serious iron in that chin.

Floyd never failed any drugs tests like others we can name or did anything illegal.
