I'm serious. If you're going to claim you're better than Robinson (and remember you're talking about the consensus GOAT of over a HUNDRED years worth of individual athletes) you better prove it thrice over.

Mayweather is already an ATG in my opinion. There is a difference between being an ATG and being top P4P ever and thats what most were saying.

 

This is so stupid!! Why in other sports can a recent athlete be called the greatest ever (Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Roger Federer, etc) but in boxing "nobody will ever be better than Robinson". Boxing fans are so ****in dumb!! I bet even Robinson himself would agree Mayweather is better. He has way better defense and other than more power, Robinson had nothing on him.

Watch, if someone beats Mayweather, people will say "see...I told you he isn't that great". Even though Robinson lost, struggled with, and had gift decisions over some very mediocre opponents. All of those performances were excused because he fought so often. If Mayweather fought that often, he would still probably be undefeated, and if he lost it would be to better fighters than the people that Robinson lost to and/or struggled with. Regardless of weight, do you really think Mayweather would have lost to La Motta? C'mon!! Mayweather started at 130 and he still would have beaten La Motta. Mayweather at 150lbs beats La Motta 10 out of 10 times. Robinson was great, but stop with the "nobody will ever be better" bull****!!

Floyd hasn't done enough to be better than Robinson. It isn't a question of Robinson's resume being untouchable (Armstrong and Greb may be better, among others)--it's Floyd's not being good enough to do it.

Head-to-head evaluations are meaningless when evaluating greatness.

 

same here. I cant really see a situation where hed be ranked over Robinson, Ali, Greb, and Armstrong....or even Whitaker....but beat those guys and I see him being top 10-15

 

To get in the top 5 he would have to beat those 3 and Paul Williams, the winner of Pavlik vs Taylor and become linear at 154.

 

After he beats Hatton, I'm predicting Mosley to beat Cotto, which will set up a fight between Mayweather vs Mosley. While that fight is being made, Cotto vs Hatton will happen. Cotto will win, which would set up a fight against Mayweather. Mayweather will win. With all those win against elites, I would rank him some where in the top ten indeed.
