    On pure ability I think there is a case to place him very very high. But in terms of achievment, no way.

    Are you ****in kidding me? Now you want a guy who started his career at 130 and is 5'8 to fight and defeat a 6'2 Middleweight who walks around at 175-180 and hits like a truck (Pavlik) or a 6'1 Middleweight who also walks around at 175-180lbs and has outgrown the Middleweight division and is going up to Super Middleweight? This is insane!! De La Hoya who is naturally bigger, stronger and taller than Mayweather (even though he started at the same weight) couldn't beat Hopkins, but the smaller Mayweather is supposed to beat the guy who beat him twice or a guy even taller and more powerful!! No wonder Floyd was talking retirement...people's demands of him are outrageous!!

    You have a lot to learn if you think Mayweather isn't at least as gifted as Robinson. Again, even Robinson didn't have the defense Floyd has. Also, Floyd is smarter.

    I think that Mayweather may indeed be as gifted as Robinson...i also feel he may shade him for defense.

    I beleive that Mayweather has perhaps one fifth of Robinson's offense though. Robinson was a box-puncher even up at Middle...the guy stopped LaMotta possibly the best chin/endurance combo of any fighter ever.

    Indeed, the Floyd smarter shout is odd.

    Also, Robinson spends much more time punching, which will obviously make him easier to hit back.

    Not #1 of all times but he would be in the Top10.

    To be #1 he would have to beat:

    -Hatton
    -Mosley/Cotto winner
    -Williams
    -Spinks
    -Taylor at 160 (or the 160 Champ if Taylor goes up to 168 )

    Seems unlikely to me this would NECCESARILY move him above Armstrong, for example.

    But it puts him in that type of company

    What I meant is that he's one of the best ever at defense, just like Hank is one of the best ever in attacking skills.

    SRR was unstoppbale the only person to give him trouble was lamotta and lamotta only beat him once out of the five times they fought. This hypethetical but i could see SRR doing a number on PBF, this is my opinion.

    A few things to note:

    Mosley is already clearly past his prime.

    Cotto is untested against anyone elite.

    Hatton is Hatton. How highly do you rank Hatton?


    Don't get me wrong, all three wins would be good wins for Floyd, but I'm not sure I'd be ready to say that those wins make him a top 20 ATG, to say nothing of a top 3.

    There's still more to learn about Cotto and how good he is, and I'm not convinced Hatton is all that good. As I said, Mosley is not at his best, no matter how impressive he looked against an injured Collazo.

    sorry to disappoint you but I have floyd top 5 right now, if he beats hatton and the winner of cotto/mosley I would move him as second best all-time. to surpass robinson he would have to face the wbc champ at 160
