a Catch 22, lose-lose situation? If he beats Mosley in impressive fashion we'll hear stories about how Shane is an old man, but if it's competitive then 'Floyd isn't THAT great'.:think

people will give credit because it would be painfuly obvious that there not even a fan of the sport to not give Floyd credit....for me i give him huge credit because despite his age...Mosley is the #1 WW and its not even close as of right now....the only other fight that FLoyd can do is Pac and that didnt work.

As far as lose lose...you bet he is....if he wins in blow out fashion...you know what they will say.."shot or old or both"

He wins close...people will yell an OLD past it Mosley took him the distance or almost beat him...same shyt he got for Oscar...oh yea..Mosley got robbed or shoulda won...they love that argument.

He loses and everything the man has done becomes even more insignificant to those who already have his accomplishments insignificant.

he gets KO'ed......ALL HELL WILL BREAK LOOSE!!

    the guy just cant win.

Of course he will get sh*t if he loses, and his star wil only rise a little if he wins the fight easy. But I think he will get (a little) credit for it.

It's a medium/high risk bout with little reward in lagacy and huge reward money wise.

i give him credit for fighting mosley instead of lets say malignaggi or m.hatton.
    Doesn't mean he's fighting a old guy.
He probably will ud him 116-112 something like that.

That is what happens when a boxer tends to avoid a real challenge.

Yes.. But he'll catch more heat if the fight is one sided.

for some fans they will definitely see it that way, but it's a common predicament for many top fighters. honestly it's fairly rare for 2 elite fighters to meet when both are at their primes.

but in the end, it's a hundred times better to fight mosley and be in a lose-lose situation in the eyes of some fans than it is to not fight mosely at all which is inexcusable in the eyes of all but the most furious nuthuggers.

Noone has blown Shane out. I think Mayweather really needs to win and win big. The dam of haters is at full capacity and if he loses its going to be a bloodbath for his career. Promoters, media, everyone will turn on him like the plague because hes such a douche bag.

Tell Pac to get over his fear of needles that are used to drug test then Pac can get his ass spanked too! :deal

Oh and remember, Pac's sorry ass ducked Mosley to fight shot Cotto.

if he wins, mosley is old, shot, had an off night, and may had the ref and judges in his pocket

if mosley wins he is bumped up in ATG status directly one spot under pac

Exactly. You see how masterfully the haters have set up there "don't give him credit" defense.

long layoff - even though the man was just in camp to fight Berto
he is old - even though he is WW champ, just beat Margo, #3 P4P, and Pac ducked him

More like this is what happens when you are not a fan favourite. Like the Klits no matter what this guy does he will be hated. He could beat Mosley, then Pac and then Williams and people will still be crying that he ducked Marg/Cotto/ Tsyzu and that he lost the first Castillio fight, lol.

Its common knowledge that he tried to fight Shane twice in the last decade yet that is completely ignored.
