If Mayweather Wins via Jab And Move, Is he ATG?

He knocked Vargas down with one punch. He did not knock him out. When you knock someone out, the don't get back up. They are still "out".

 

Answer to thread title - of course, any win over Mosely, especially a win were you only use one punch repeatedly, is greatness.

 

Everyone does not sign their contracts the day they receive it. There really is no point besides early promotion to sign to fast. However, the fight is in 4 months, more than enough time to hype. He could have waited until March 13. If he was "holding for something..." why sign anyway?

 

I think your reaching for **** that aint there, personally.

 

The question wasnt about Mayweather being an ATG WW, everyone knows thats not the case, the question was will he be an ATG period because of this particular victory at WW.

 

Mayweather needs to win convincingly to help his case. I'd say he is already a great fighter but how great? We don't know.

I always thought tha was one of the first things you were taught when boxing.

If Floyd could beat a fighter the calibre on Mosley by just doing that then damn, maybe he is the greatest of all time. No point in being hit if you don't have too.

People need to realise that being an exciting fighter and great boxer are not the same thing. Edison Miranda is exciting but far from great.

 

Winning is based on being better and having a better game plan than your opponent in addition to execution of said game plan.
Furthermore, boxing is ALL about the jab. Those "ATG's" on most lists have awesome jabs. Sugar Ray Robinson, Muhammad Ali, Foreman, Sonny Liston...etc.

 

It also depends on how Mosley looks,if Mosley looks his age and puts on a pathetic performance(i dont think he will) fraud wont get much credit,similar to Pac-DLH which isnt considered much of win cause of the way Oscar looked in that fight.

I got PBF ranked somewhere mid low to mid ATG already...
a win off of one kind of punch can be a brilliant performance granted that it may be boring.. but like other posters said, Jab and Move is pretty much one of the basic things to learn in boxing. I'll be damn surprised if he wins that way, granted Mosley is a good enough fighter to not allow himself repeated bs.

I'm thinking the majority of peeps here want to see a dramatic and entertaining fight...

Oscar looked **** in his previous fight + fought at 147 when he was a 154 lber for yrs tho.... Shane looked great in his last fight & without doubt will be comfortable at 147.

The winner of this fight - whoever that is - should get full credit, Shane should get a little more as FMJ will likely be the favourite tho.

 

The way I see it, if Old fat man Marquez was able to land his right hand on Floyd's face, Mosley can do much more damage.

 

Regardless of how he wins(except by robbery) it increases his status as an ATG. He does not need to 'gain' ATG status he already is.
