It doesn't even look for certain that he is even looking at Schaefer. Many times when someone is talking to you, and you don't want to hear what they have to say, you look off somewhere else.
I think it's pretty clear that he's looking at Schaefer. It actually happened more than once -- after Floyd said that he would give Ortiz a rematch, he looked at Schaefer and Schaefer visibly nods to him on that occasion too. (That's at 2:00 onward.)
No it isn't. This is a pointless conversation anyway. If people want to believe that Schaefer is some puppet master, directing Mayweather's moves during post fight interviews, go right ahead.
Floyd said he would leave the ring and head straight back. I'm inclined to believe him if there's any reason for controversy.
I think he was looking at Schaefer to confirm the rematch. He said he'd give Ortiz one and then looked at him to make sure that's ok
This part is understandable. he would need the yes from Richard to see if GBP is willing to make Mayweather-Ortiz II.
notice how Richard looks away right as to say Larry, you done it now homeboi! before Floyd goes ka booooooooooom
I agree with both of you, I think he was checking to see if the rematch could happen. That was the first time. It's the second time that puzzles me, and he blows up at Merchant right after.
That doesn't make any sense. Number 1, why would he need GBP to give the ok? Number 2, what he says in that interview isn't binding. Number 3, even if he did need the ok from GBP, how would Schaefer be in a position to do so right after the fight?
I disagree about Merchant. He DID antagonize him. He asked Floyd a question, and Floyd answered....but not with the answer Merchant wanted. So Merchant asked the same question again, still not satisfied with the answer he'd gotten the 2nd time he asks a 3rd time slightly reworded. That's when Floyd was like "**** it"
You got a link to it? I seem to remember something smart ass in Larry's question, but that time Floyd didn't react to it as much. :think
not like a formal ok. He just blurted it out probably in the heat of the moment not thinking and then once he did, looked over at Schaefer to make sure he's not over stepping anything. Like you said, Floyd wanted to look away anyways, and Schaefer was the one that made the most sense
Merchant was still antagonizing and Floyd was flustered by the end of the interview. and Merchant was taking shots at Floyd all night.
