Larry Merchant is a ***git *****. **** him. We all know he doesn't like Floyd, and is seriously biased aginst him and other fighters like him. Honestly, who wants to have their night ruined by having to listen to some old-ass biased ***git motha****a who could never do **** himself talking about others like he knows everything? He don't really know ****. He just likes to antagonize fighters which wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't so blatantly biased.
Exactly what does FB mean, N? Sounds like the vilest insult ya could think of. (You mentioned it twice, with the addition of MF, for emphasis) Is "seriously biased...against other fighters like him" code for something else? Read up on Merchant; he was a kick-ass football player 'n an award-winning journalist and sports editor. He knows plenty. Pathetic Floyd has such a thin skin.
You were right. Looking back in hindsight people fans strangely enjoyed that verbal exchange between the two. Floyd fans were happy to see Merchant get cussed out and put in place. Floyd haters were excited at seeing Floyd angry.
I think Merchant would have done himself more favors had he acted in a fashion similar to the way Gil Clancy did when he interviewed former charge Ronnie Harris. Harris called him a slave-driver, and Clancy showed remarkable calm by shrugging his shoulders and saying "sorry you feel that way, Ronnie." As an additional aside, Merchant isn't particularly well liked by Eric Morales (or at least he wasn't during one of the MAB fights, when El Terrible accused him of not having any class,) That being said, I think the next interview might be remarkably civil, depending on the zult. Call it a hunch, at any rate...
Do you think that's comparable to Floyd ranting insults in Merchant's face, D? If you were doing the interview, when would Floyd step-over the line?
Larry Merchant has always disrespected defensive fighters who win without going to war. Floyd is insecure and impetuous and can't take anything approaching criticism. They are a match made in heaven.
I'am glad Larry is on-board & so he should be as yer can't fool him or suck up to him in the vain hope of ignoring the questions that the boxing public want answers too & that is as we all know "Why is Floyd Mayweather so **** scared of Manny Pacquiao:yep I admire Floyd's businness acumen as he knows how to suck that $$$ out of the deaf dumb & blind mans pocket & will continue to do so as long as he can avoid his day with fistic & financial doom at the hands of the man he fears most. In his own words he's said he ai'nt gonna end up like Ali which is fair enough but it don't give him the right too pick a fan-boy or a greenhorn apprentice companyman like kellerman who knows ****-all too just lead off with safety 1st & all flattering questions when there are real questions that the paying public require answers too. Why are you not giving the boxing world the fight it demands? Are you really so affeared? These are the questions that larry will put too Floyd & Floyd being the ***** he is don't want none of that:deal
Max Kellerman is so much better than Larry Merchant it's not even funny Mayweather will flat out refuse an interview if Merchant does the interview (which i believe he will)...surely HBO and Leonard Ellerbe or whoever can sort this out before the fight
John have you studied the commentary on the Mayweather-Castillo 2 and Baldomir fights? It's very negative, as is the Delahoya and Gernaro Hernandez fight if I remember rightly, Merchant really seemed to not like Floyd before he even became a champ if you listen to the commentary and this is before Floyd's 'bad boy' persona when he was just a likeable kid and more aggressive boxer. Also see Merchant's cringeworthy interview where he asks Katsidis if he thinks his dead brother would be proud of him just after Katsidis loses. He may have meant it as Katsidis put in a good effort but it was pretty bad timing and badly put. Merchant has a long history in boxing but the thing is he hasn't boxed, doesn't know how hard it is and is often overly critical and this is why allot of boxers do not like him
I predict Mayweather loses in an all out war but shows us the guts and excitement and courage that he hasn't needed to show in years. Merchant intervews him and shows him alot of respect for that. That would be cool. And the mora of the story for kids everywhere will be: Its not all about winning Baby
