Quite unlikely since Margarito is as tough as they come, But if Cotto does blow him out and I mean BAD. How will it change your feelings towards Cotto? Would you be very impressed? Or just somewhat impressed? How much credit would you give him?....discuss :smoke Would his "lb 4 lb" rank change?

Anything else besides being impressed cannot be an answer.

Although I think Cotto will win IMPRESSIVELY, I don't think he'll be blowing anyone out of the water. Some have tipped it, so fair enough, their answer may be different to mine. But most think it'll be a good, tough fight with Cotto winning (GENERALLY, although some think otherwise)

Cotto's stock would have to significantly rise, even though it's already very high. Like you said Margo's as tough as they come, and a belt holder in the stacked WW division.

Assuming he gives him a beating, as you say, a Mayweather v Gatti type performance, I'd be mightily impressed. To overcome that much power, height, workrate and chin would be some accomplishment. Unlikely though. Margarito's no Gomez.

I'd be fairly impressed but far from surprised, Cotto has great tools and above average skill and knowlege of the game he already knows what he needs to do to win so its merely a matter of concentration and proper execution.

Yeah what I'm getting here is what if he has an easy time with him? Not necesarilly knocking him out, but handily outboxing him and brutalizing Margarito's face in a 12 round beating. Would he move up lb 4 lb and if so how high? #4? #3? #2?

That would be very impressive because i don't see any fIghter doing that to Margarito.

I would consider Cotto the best Welter weight today, its very unlikely but I would also like to add that if Cotto did blast Tony out of there well I am sure in six months Floyd Mayweather will be fighting Tony

Cotto gets P4P respect and becomes the man at 147. No other answer would suffice.

I think Tony's too tough and too good to get blown out (I don't even know if Cotto will win) but if it happened I put Cotto in my top four P4P.

Possible that Cotto slips into top 3? I'd say at LEAST #4. But if he was to get #3 who would he replace? Pacquiao? Calzaghe?...Depends what your list is I guess.

I wouldn't have him in front of the top 5. But he'd be from 6-10. Now if he takes the Williams-Quintana belt and whoever holds the IBF strap then yes, he starts making an argument for the top 3.
