It would be tough to put him past Pac-Man or Calzaghe. Although I suppose Pac-Man could also lose to Diaz.

IMO he'd have to be at least #4 if he has an impressive win over Margo.

Just wondering how many here will give Margarito the same props should he dominate Cotto.

Would he then be ranked high on PFP lists:think

He'd have to, won't he! Cotto is a consistent performer who is getting better with every fight. If Margarito beats Cotto, it means he's really, really good!

He won't, though. He just doesn't have enough, I don't think.

Margarito sometimes gets cut. Anyone can be hurt to the body, even tough Mexicans like Margarito. He's not good enough a boxer to avoid that many of Cotto's hurtful punches, like Mosley did, for example. He'll have to make it a war to win, so he'll take a lot of leather. I wouldn't be that surprised if Cotto stops him...:think

Perhaps 5-6? I was going to thread the same question lol. But Cotto has a better resume overall as well, I don't think Margarito would be able to jump as high as Cotto could. I mean Cotto can only move up 1 notch as it is, as moving into the top 3 would be hard unless Pac gets his ass beat which is very very unlikely.

there's a difference between stopping someone and dominating him from pillar to post like Cotto did to Gomez.

Sure; however, I was speaking of a possible stoppage.

Anyway, Cotto has the right stuff to dominate Margarito, even if not to the same extent he dominated Gomez...we'll see.

I would be very impressed and say he goes higher on the p4p rankings. I think p4p is taken too seriously though.

I think Cotto wins a decision, but takes his lumps in the process. 8-4 type fight.
