I just don't understand some of you guys. On one hand you post something like "cotto and margarito are true warriors they deserve the payday" and on another you get pissed because the fight is held where it will make the most money. Boxing fans want everything for free you want your favorite matchup held in your backyard with both guys willing to fight for peanuts and if you can't make it to the fight you'd like for a major TV network to kindly put aside a show that brings in 30 million viewers to instead play a fight that will get about 1 million. Peopls's expectations in this sport are too unrealtistic.

BTW to the thread starter I honestly believe that you simply had a legitamite question this is not directed towards you.

This fight was supposed to make Cotto a bigger star. Arum said that Cotto was already a favorite in the East Coast and he wanted him to make fans out of the West Coast crowd as well. He was trying to make him a national star rather than a regional star. Turned out differently.

The fight was held in Vegas because Arum was trying to get Margo and Cotto exposure and make them into stars Cotto was a regional fighter fighting only in MSG on the east coast they made the right choice in having it in Vegas.

Not only the obvious with Casino site fees (Casino's Pay the Promoters to host the event, thereby bringing people to their spot and having Jim Lampley say from Mandalay Bay or which ever 50 times like a commercial).

Did not something with glove size have to do with it. Smaller gloves allowed in Vegas? Or the other way around? There was definitly something to do with glove size.

According to Arum, who said, " It would be better exposure for both fighters "

    Translation......more $$$$ for Arum!!!!

I'll let you in on a best kept secret.....Arum is a greedy *******
