Or even Lennox Lewis, who, according to one poster earlier also only fought top fighters when they were on the way down. Is this how some on ESB would assess his 15 fights from winning the world title until his stretch in jail?

Trevor Berbick – Past it & already had 4 losses
Bonecrusher Smith – Past it & already had 5 losses
Pinklon Thomas – Right age, fair record but not exactly an ATG
Tyrell Biggs – Too green, only 15 fights before facing Tyson (15-0-0)
Tony Tucker – Padded record – most opponents he had faced had losing records
Larry Holmes – Past it and low on confidence, had lost last two coming into fight
Michael Spinks – Pumped up lightheavy, never as effective once he made the step up
Tony Tubbs – Padded resume – never beat a top fighter
Frank Bruno – ‘Euro Bum’ - Couldn’t hack it in America
Carl Williams – Never beat a top fighter
Buster Douglas – All know what happened there
Henry Tillman – 4 defeats and no notable scalps on his resume
Alex Stewart – No big names on his resume
Razor Ruddock (twice) – Hype Job AND first fight was stopped prematurely

And so all in all, Tyson, at his peak, in his prime, was ****…….?

I'am not going to trash you just because you are new here and must be 8. Tyson destroyed everybody that was put in front of him and cleaned out the divsion besides Douglas.

Good point well made mate and needless to say that others haven't picked up on it.

The way Americans and other agenda ridden haters assess the likes of Calzaghes career is extremely biased and twisted...and you can do it to almost anyones record as you have demonstrated here.

The truth is, Tyson and Calzaghe are both great fighters who have earned that distinction by beating good fighters during their respective careers :good

You may not be aware, but Tyson's resume is his downfall when assessing his Greatness. Using Tyson's resume to defend Joe is not a good angle - because Tysons resume gets the same treatment as Joes on here.

but despite a less than stellar record he is still highly respected and one of the most talked about fighters of all time, at least recent times. i bet most boxers wouldnt mind the career he had.

the original posts a good one, but people are sure not to get the point.he's saying that even someone as revered as iron mike didnt fight ATG's every few months

Exactly...............you can pick fault with anyones record if thats your agenda.

At least that's what I was saying but I have really taken the kill yourself remarks to heart and am now devastated and think I should listen to the brain dead ******s who need that explained to them.

Boxing is nothing without Tyson! If there is Tyson haters i'm laughing in your faces. Just watch his fights and try to do what he was doing most of the time, destroying peoples bodys and brains in the first round. Tyson is born with gloves come on, Just like Jordan is born with a basket ball
