After his untimely loss to "Buster Douglas" in 1990, Tyson vowed he'd become world champion again within 6 months. Holyfield, at the time, was in the prime of his life, and would have been pitted against Tyson. However, Tyson wasn't allowed to box due to a **** conviction that took away 4 years of his career.

    Hypothetically speaking:

What if Tyson had not been charged?
What if Tyson-Lewis happened earlier in his career?
Would Tyson-Holyfield have had a different outcome?
Riddick Bowe and George foreman possible fights?

Tyson and Holyfield would have had a war! One for the ages! I personally think Holyfield would have won this, but it's 50/50 no doubt.

Mike was smart enough to stay away from Big George, who would always have Mike's number.

Mike and Lennox may have happened around the time Mike fought Holyfield instead, both aged 30, Mike would not have been as explosive as before, and I feel he would have lost a decision to a very cautious Lennox Lewis, who would have stayed behind that jab, thrown uppercuts and tied Mike up.

    Imo Holyfield always beats Tyson

    Lewis always beats Tyson

Bowe v Tyson would have never happened as Bowe would have bottled it

Tyson v Foreman wouldn't have happened as Don King wouldn't have allowed it

Tyson vs Holy in 91 & loses in a great fight
Tyson vs old Foreman in 92 & wins on points
Tyson vs Bowe in 93 & gets knocked out in a brutal war
Tyson vs Lewis in 94/95 & might get lucky, but probably loses

Do you simply rate Bowe above Lewis or are you basing your theories on the style of fighter?

A bit of both tbh, H2H against Tyson I think Bowe is harder to beat than Lewis.

At that time Bowe was much further down the road than Lewis as a pro, I'm convinced he would have beaten Lennox in 92. Lewis was also much less cautious than he became later in his career when he worked with Steward. He was more athletic & exciting back then, more willing to exchange but also more vunerable.

Against Tyson, I think Bowe has the better style to beat him & the better intangibles.

I was a big fan of Mike, and I was fortunate that he was just coming through as I bacame old enough to understand boxing properly, but ultimately I think he had too many demons and I think if it hadn't have been Desiree,he would have ruined it all some other way.
I'm still grateful for the memories of what he DID achieve.

Tyson likely loses to Lennox and beats Holyfield.
Tyson would've dominated old Foreman and he would KO Bowe.

Yeah, I agree with this. Bowe was a good fighter on the inside and just based on that I think he lands more on Tyson.

I've always thought that Foreman was a nightmare fight for Tyson. A big guy you can't back up and have no hope of hurting. I also always thought that Ray Mercer would have been a candidate to beat him with his great chin, good boxing skills and fantastic jab.

Don King tried to make the WBC order a rematch but failed.

Holy was the #1 challenger & had already agreed to fight Tyson after he beat Douglas.

Tyson lost so Holy fought Douglas. Holy chose Foreman for his 1st defense & Tyson as his 2nd.

The terms were agreed but Tyson was arrested for **** & the fight didnt happen until 96.

C'us was convinced that a small, swarming fighter could never beat Foreman. Tyson knew that behind the jolly old man act there was a wolf in sheeps clothing. I think he would win on workrate but would have to be very disciplined.

Tyson-Mercer would have been a great fight, Mercer has one of the best chins Ive ever seen. I'd favour Tyson but I dont think he could knock Mercer out, it would have been a brutal slug-fest & I think Tyson has more firepower.

For Tyson-Ruddock 1, Lennox Lewis joined Ian Darke in the commentary box. During the fight, Darke asked Lewis: "When will we see you in with these guys, Lennox?" Lewis answered by saying: "I'm not ready, yet, but I would say in 18 months to two years, I'll be ready to step in with these guys".

I think Tyson would have beaten Lewis had they fought in 1996, so of course I think he'd beat him had he fought him at any time when he was in jail. Lewis was nowhere near the fighter he would go on to become. And people can cite the way he knocked out Ruddock, but Razor was nowhere near the fighter he was in the fights he had with Tyson. Tyson battered him, especially in the second bout, breaking Ruddock's jaw in two places.

Tyson beats Holyfield because Evander was way more susceptible to being drawn into a shootout then, than was the case in 1996 when they actually fought. Put it this way... if Tyson had Holyfield hurt.. he wouldn't let him off the hook.
