Mate i dare you to take someone to the ground in the real world. I can kick a Rugby ball 80 meters and while you are ****ing around on the ground someone is going to kick you square in the face and you will die. Throwing fast accurate punches from distance while keeping your footwork and situational awareness is the best way to conduct yourself.

and MMA doesn't translate well to the irregular environments you will fight in. Try throwing a kick when surrounded by bar stools and tables, try mounting someone when they are flush up against a wall or other object. Your gonna look really funny when you finally get someone in a full mount and he rams a glass into your face for your trouble. And don't tell me that knees and elbows are MMA moves because everyone i know was using them years before this **** came along.

I think MMA is more effective in one-on-one fight but if you're in a group brawl, they may take down one but they're leaving them selves wide open for others to attack..

It's certainly more realistic in terms of all 1 on 1 combat like two trained pitbulls fighting each other. I like the idea that you can bring whatever tactics you want to the party as long as you win.

Jujitsu is a core discipline for many of the most successful MMA pros. A jujitsu black belt in a bar would likely just smash your head into a stool or table. If he's worth the black belt he's wearing, then he'd look to use his environment to his advantage, no matter how irregular it is.

So you can't say MMA doesn't translate well.
