Pulver has had 4 boxing matches, all against fellow novices or guys with huge losing records. Belfort fought people that looked like they stepped up from the audience they were that bad. Lidell is a terrible boxer.

Difference is that in 20 years from now, no one will know about .... um, which MMA fighter has dominated for more than a couple of years? :patsch So the focus will be a lot less on that.

Smaller gloves will cause more body-punch KO's, but lesser head-KO's.
A small glove will focus the damage on a small spot of the face and is very hard: it will do a lot of local, superfacial damage like cuts, bruises, broken bones, etc. But it will not that easy knock a man unconscious.
However, a larger glove, say anything more than 6 or 8oz, will more or less "push" the head back, causing a twist instead of energy going to breaking bons, skin, etc. The twist of the head is exactly which is what causes a knockout.

On top of that, because no or smaller gloves are a lot more painful, have a big risk to break your own hand as well receive cuts, etc, you will see that just like during pre-1900 boxing, little to no combinations are used, no glove blocking and an awefully slow workrate. Just watch some fights of Jack Johnson, who started in a transition from bareknuckle to gloved style: he did not throw many combinations, it involved a lot of wrestling, barely any outside work (footwork) or block. Basically just a more boring version.

MMA has its own rules and that's just fine. Boxing should keep its own rules.

some of you act like fighters have never worn smaller gloves before.... check the sizes again, for the most part boxing has ALWAYS worn smaller gloves then todays standards....

we need smaller gloves. nobodys talking mma gloves here, just 8oz gloves.

MMA really only adopted the smaller gloves to allow grappling.

Smaller gloves = more hand injuries and cuts stoppages.
