If Mosley Beats Canelo = Mayweather vs Martinez?

I think it's quite widely considered that should Canelo beat Mosley, then Mayweather will then look to fight Canelo on Mexican Independance Weekend (not sure of the date).

However, if Mosley does what right now looks to be the impossible and actually beats Canelo, I think the chances of us seeing May vs Martinez grow significantly. Martinez will yield to absolutely any of Mayweather's demands, and with May's last fight (against Cotto), having taken place at 154, the public eye really will be on Floyd to take the challenge.

This is all also dependant on Floyd beating Cotto. What do other people think?

    Come on Shane!!

He'll be in jail after he beats Cotto, he won't fight in September. 2013 maybe.

Mosely has precisely 0% chance of beating Alvarez.

    Good point.

That might actually also work for a potential Floyd vs Sergio fight as well though. Given that it takes 6 months for a Floyd ppv, it gives Sergio some time to wipe the floor with JCCjr, making him a bigger PPV draw and thus a more viable opponent for Floyd. Though I suppose that's contingent on JCCjr (Arum) agreeing to fight Martinez, which might just happen seeing that Martinez is his mandatory isn't he?

It's optimistic I know but it could all just happen!

sounds like good logic. I think floyd fights canelo then martinez next anyway unless bradley beats pac and then becomes a front runner in all of this. Floyd could fight berto if he beats ortiz and then beats alexander and rises back up to the top at 147.

Canelo is fighting september 15th win or lose according to Richard Schaefer so no way Floyd fights him then or November (since he's going to jail).

I am not even sure if JCC Jr. will win a round against Andy Lee to be an available option for Martinez. Which will usher more attention to Floyd Martinez versus any other person for Martinez. Andy Lee isn't as big of a draw as JCC Jr. so the energy would go to waiting for Floyd, if not, he would fight a Canelo.

That should be fun. Both Top Rank and Golden Boy want their top Mexican fighters to fight on Mexican independance day. DiBella wants Chavez/Martinez to be on PPV, Canelo vs. TBD would almost definitely be on regular HBO. I wonder how this mess will be sorted out.

I don't think Mosley has much chance at all against Alvarez but if he wins I wouldn't be shocked to see Martinez-Mosley this fall since I'm not at all positive Chavez fights Martinez. I'd love to be wrong but I don't think Mayweather wants much of Martinez-too much risk/reward compared to some of his other options.

I don't think Mayweather fights again this year with his jail time and usual schedule. I think Mayweather fights again May 2013 against Alvarez. Alvarez has to beat Mosley, then his Sept fight, and if he has one last fight late 2012/early 13. If Alvarez comes through those then I think we get Mayweather-Alvarez May 2013.

I heard Canelo vs Kirkland will indeed be on PPV.

****, wouldn't it be amazing if all of those clowns could work together and put it all on one card? Chavez vs Martinez with Canelo vs Kirkland as the co-feature. 600k plus buys in the US easy and enough money to go around. Never going to happen though.
