If Mosley beats Mayweather, who ranks higher all time, Mosley or Hopkins?

Mosley, i rate him higher even w/o Floyd.

 

A case could be made for sure. Mosley critics will always have the Forrest fights, being as Mosley was prime at the time.... But I would say it would tighten things up quite a bit, if he were to beat Mayweather.

 

Can Forrest not be countered with Jones?

 

No Forrest wasnt superhuman

 

He was damn close on both nights. None of the elite contemporary welterweights of that period would have been comfortable against him in either performance.

 

That is a good point, I think it could be somewhat. But Jones had that invincible aura around him at that time period, and it was only one win, not two. Plus most people consider Hopkins to be "green" at that time, while Mosley was one of the top P4P in the world.

Forrest was also beaten by Mayorga shortly thereafter. I honestly think it was a sure case of styles making fights.... I honestly thought Mosley would beat Mayorga right after I saw Mayorga knock Forrest out.

 

Kind of..... Maybe if Hopkins did not arguably win those fights. Shane was destroyed the first time, and lost the second pretty soundly.

 

I'm a Mosley fan and Shane got whopped the 2nd round of the first fight and lost that fight decisively. The second fight was much closer and had it's moments but I wish I could've given it a draw because no one really deserved to win that fight decisively. Can't argue with a Forrest decision though...

 

Lets not forget the 2 schoolings from Winky Wright.

Considering what Hopkins has done at 36+ I rate him higher.

But if Shane beat Floyd I would rethink.

 

How the hell can you rate Mosley higher than Floyd at this point? He lost twice in a row to two different guys...the only truly, truly impressive thing he has done in his career is beat a prime De La Hoya, and Margarito. Now, if he beats Mayweather, I think that puts him maybe on par with Floyd's ATG status...definitely not ahead of him, though.

 

I think he meant he'd rate Mosley higher than Bhop even without winning against Floyd.
