    No, he paid JMM.

Did Mayweather have to pay anyone???????????

Why did he have to pay JMM?????????????????????????????

Amazing you you can be selectively myopic at times. You only want to see the picture that suits your world.

I don't really want to get into this discussion, but at the time he was apparently using it wasn't even listed on the banned substances list or tested for. The fact remains that Shane does not dick around when it comes to being prepared for fights.

NAC 467.522 Forfeiture for failure to make weight. (
    This content is protected
    )
    1. An unarmed combatant who fails to make the weight agreed upon in his bout agreement forfeits:
    (a) Twenty-five percent of his purse if no lesser amount is set by the Commission’s representative; or
    (b) A lesser amount set by the Executive Director and approved by the Commission,
Ê unless the weight difference is 1 pound or less.
    2. A forfeit must be divided equally between the other unarmed combatant and the Commission

    http://leg.state.nv.us/NAC/NAC-467.html#NAC467Sec522

So it looks like it's 25%. If Mosley wants to forfeit 1/4 of his purse on purpose, that's on him. I doubt he's going to want to do that as the extra couple of lbs. won't help him much against Mayweather. Mosley doesn't struggle to make the weight, so it really won't help out his strength much. Not only that, but Floyd went up to 154 lbs. and was outweighed by 4 lbs. at the weigh in and still won. Again, if Mosley wants to voluntarilly give away almost $4 million in order to gain an advantage that won't help him much, he's more than welcome to do so.

Mosley was taking designer steroids and EPO during the Hoya fight. Both steroids and EPO were banned at the time and still are.

They were banned but the NSAC does not test for EPO.

Back to the Marquez fight, I don't believe that the contract was rewritten at the last minute. The penalty for coming in overweight is 25% of the purse. That money is split evenly between the commission and the fighter. Floyd's purse was $10 mill for that fight. Marquez got 300K for every lb. Floyd was overweight. Do the math. If the fight was for 144 lbs., then Marquez would've gotten $1.25 mill for Floyd being overweight. So why would he revise the contract and accept less money? He wouldn't. I believe the original contract was for a WW fight(which would make the limit 147 lbs.) and had a stipulation that gave Marquez 300k for every lb. Mayweather weighed in over 144lbs. It was still a shady move by Floyd, but technically he wasn't overweight and he never broke the contract.

The fight would still be on but I don't think it would be in Mosley's best interest to come into a fight this big like that. Being 150 pounds won't change him, he'll be the same he was at 147.

I was under the impression that they were new enough at the time (EPO, specifically) to essentially be under the radar for the testing organizations or to show up on the banned substances list, and Mosley was effectively operating in a grey area. But I stand corrected.

I don't think Mosley will do that. Besides the supposed advantage gained is not that big.

We'll speculate less if we know the details of the contract. Anybody have info on that? Why is it so secret?

mosley was part of the balco scandal, no ****er was getting caught because it was an undetectable drug, and mosley never did get caught by the tests, he got caught after the balco raid. if it wasn't for trevor graham providing a sample to the USADA, conte and some top athletes might still be getting away with taking the same enhancements drugs, and some probably still are.

I know it wouldn't of mattered with the masking agents but even without the masking agent, he could of taken EPO and right now any fighter could take EPO and not be caught.

So the revision does not have anything in it about weights, just revising the contract?

    Revisionist really are revisionist.

He did not pay because of the revision, as there is no revision payment. The payment was for coming in at 146, which was 2 pounds over 144, which was the original limit of the contract.

The revision was just to add the welterweight limit of 147 instead of the 144.

You really have a tunnel vision.

So basically. Whichever way you want to put it.

The fight was meant for 147.
