probably in lightweight. he never did much when he moved up expect get schooled by winky and forest twice. when he was at lightweigh people were comparing him to many atg and definite p4p prospect.

I'd put him as a Top20 Lightweight of all time. He looked great, was awesome toe-to-toe, but his competition sucked.

He only beat DLH twice, stopped Vargas twice, beat a prime Collazo soundly and fought a prime Cotto to a very close decision loss. ;)

I rate him as a 'great', but not an 'ATG'.

Mosley is easily a first ballot Hall of Fame boxer.

I guess it depends on your critera for an All-Time Great. I think Mosley is a great fighter, but I don't know if I'd label him all-time.

ATG at lightweight. Great fighter after he moved up.

true but mayorga beat vargas. you and I both know the dlh fights were very close and it wasn't one of mosley's "great wins". and does a prime collazo fight with an injured hand? cotto fight was a toss-up but mosley was probably favored going into the fight.

agree with me that he hasn't been nearly as impressive since moving up in weight, and a lot of it probably has to do with his opposition.

Depends on your definition of ATG.

By my reckoning, the answer is yes.

Yes. But I think he could have been greater if he didn't move up in weight and challenged the big guys. He could have retired 50-0 just like what Ricardo Lopez had done and ruled the Lightweight division. Mosley left his power when he moved up in weight and he didnt Ko anybody significant at higher weights(The Vargas ko was nothing coz Vargas was too shot).

:think I know what you mean, and i agree. Great but not an ATG was just the kind of answer I was looking for. It might be hard to understand for some people but Mosley isn't a clear ATG, he's a borderline great at best. :good

the Vargas in the first fight was a solid opponant, the second one . . . well you have a point.

Shane clearly neat DLH in the first, the first to clearly beat DLH and he didnt run from him.

The second DLH was a real close one but I scored it for Shane, both solid wins over a prime DLH - were DLH had the size advantage.

Hurt hand??? These "I hurt my hand" are the lamest excuses ever.

Cotto-SHane was a near picke em fight. Cotto won, props to him but SHane has nothing to be ashamed of with his effort and performance - at his age to fight a young lion like Cotto that close.

Of course he wasnt as dominant after jumping from LW to WW, overall theres is nothing to negative to say about the fighter (except the Balco thing) - first ballot HOF easy, ATG in my book without a doubt.
