Let's not get carried away now. This forum could go on for centuries without a thread equalling the absurdity of the Pacquiao head size thread. A new level of desperation has been reached with that thread.
Neither threw the fight. Both gave bad performances though. I think Mosley more-so because he was clearly past it. Clottey just got completely outworked and couldn't do anything about it.
The Clottey fight was a joke and a fix from jump street. They had been secretly planning this fight the whole time during negotiations with Floyd! Arum wants no part of Mayweather, real talk! He is the only one who keeps yelling no fight.
:rofl touche...that thread should be stickied so as people know what NOT to do when making a new thread
I'm not going to say that Clottey-Pac was a fix, but the **** with them hugging it out and congratulating each other BEFORE the 12th round was sickening. Clottey made it very clear he would not be trying to win in that 12th. I like sportsmanship and when two guys respect each other, but hold off until the fight's over and at least give me the illusion that you're trying to win.
I believe the probability that Clottey threw the fight with Pac is less than one in a million. And I believe the probability that Shane threw his fight with Floyd is significantly lower than than that.
as another poster pointed out, the pacman head thread was for sure worst so i was a bit hasty with that response. Still, there is no part of me that thinks either the pac-clottey fight or the floyd-sugar fight was fixed. Sure clottey and pac were all buddy buddy etc and a case could be made that at some point in that fight clottey decided all he wanted was to make it the distance and get the paycheck. I could see that for sure but throwing the fight? please. same situation with mosley. The guy was in a position to take out someone considered one of, if not the, best in the sport and to do it on a grand stage, elevating his legacy and next paycheck by a wine margin and yet he would willingly go out and throw the fight? again...please atsch. Same as with the clottey fight in that at some point shane realized he was not going to win the fight and the more he tried to do anything, the more he got his head snapped back. He too was lucky to make it to the end w/o getting tko'd. In both fights, it was simply a matter of one guy being way to skilled for the other and thats that. pac made clottey look like **** just like floyd made shane look like ****. Both deserve credit for the wins and saying either of them was a setup/fake fight does disservice to all invloved. at least you did admit you dont think either threw the fight and this thread provides an outlet for those opinions regardless of how foolish they are.
Its all BS! why throw the fight? nonsense...Clottey could have...or he fought afraid of getting KOd....
I agree on all of your points. This thread wasn't an attempt to bash Pac, or discredit his win. It was instead made in respond to all of the Floyd haters (I won't say *******s, because if your not a fan of Mayweather you hate him, and thats alot of people) who claim the MW/Mosley fight was fixed..... Good points, but hey look at the Pac/Clottey fight. Nobody wants to hear that.
Both are brilliant (Mayweather and Pacquiao) and it really can be summed up this way. Brilliant brawler versus Decent Boxer. Brilliant Boxer versus Elite Brawler. Logically we need to see Pacquiao against Mayweather. It's the only great fight out there currently.
Ishe Smith believes Shane lost the fight in camp.... as he had horrible sparring partners. He also stated that floyd was too elusive in camp and that he struggled to connect his punches...no shocker floyd won.
