I'm not surprised that roy got KO'd by green. I am shocked that it happened in rd 1 though. Roy has been reinvigorating his career in
a carefully matched rebuilding stage recently. His last win over lacy
had alot thinking he was almost back to his old self, but looking at the
lacy fight all i saw were two figters with NO fire. Roy was just the faster and sharper of the 2. Green on the other hand had probably his best training camp. Got to fight at a weight which suited him perfectly,
And was the advantaged fighter in terms of strength and power.
Green also has mixed on a world class level for years and has only come up short in fights due primarily to fighting while dehydrated. Against a low level fighter named sean sullivan from new zealand. Green was rushed to the hospital after a fight w/ sullivan that lasted 10 rounds. Green won a wide UD, but had to go to the emergency room for severe dehydration.
FACT! Against mundine he was a walking deadman who only took the fight because of the purse and for honor to fight in the biggest fight in OZ history. He just stood there pawing at mundine for 12 rounds. When green moved up to light heavy he fought with the same vigor that a younger danny used to fight like. The young green that smashed lucas and beyer
( who got a gift TD in germany in the first fight. This green was able to make 168 for awhile. Anyway years go by, and danny easily beats drews.
A 6'6" inch lightheavy who was a decorated amatuer and the WBA title holder. Drews lost every second of every round, and drews was known for being a very technical guy. Green overwhelmed him and swarmed him. Then green suddenly retired out of the blue. He came back after a year and a half layoff to obliterate in a warm up fight, and some said he looked
sharp and renewed. When he fought on the undercard of the roy/lacy fight. He fought a domestic level lightheavy who came in heavy, and green outboxed and overpowered the argentinian in 5.
The story here is that if the posters on here that spend all their time
trolling and responding to the 3 or 4 posts that dominate ESB actually followed careers of boxers from all over the world, about 50% at least would've picked roy to lose by KO. Green at this stage in his career was a
bad pick for roy, especially in australia and on the eve of a potential fight
    with the X.
So, let this be a lesson to all the casual boxing fans on this board.
Boxing is a global sport now. Fighters you've never heard of or seen can and will decision, stop, or brutally KO your american hero's.
Anyone want to doubt green's chances against dawson or hopkins?
    I dare you!!

Green didn't get lucky. He got ready!

i like green he's a very dangerous fighter, but mundine and beyer both beat him!!

he shook the LHW division up a touch though, its funny esb is whining about jones is shot as per usual again because he lost but i bet the majority picked him to beat green...

    lol

Gotta give credit where it is due. Green did what he set out to do. But Roy should've retired 6 or 7 years ago. Even we Americans know that. Only his most fanatical fans think he can still do the things he used to do. Before we anoint Green as some kind of legend, let's see him beat somebody other than the ghost of RJJ.

Dude, it is factual that he was weight drained against both beyer in the 2nd fight and mundine. 175-180 danny is a badass. A careful stalker with
two fisted dynamite who is rangy and relentless. Good prototypr if you ask me. He would've dusted beyer any where else but germany, so there would've been no need for a rematch. Mundine would've been KO'd like roy
at 175, and he knows it.

I've never said let's annoint green. I just hate it that almost everyone on here that said he'd be an easy fight for roy now says that he just hit a lottery longshot. His victory was acheived and not annointed.

I knew well this was a risky pick, but off the Lacy fight, thought Jones would outclass him. What I didn't get, however, was why Jones and his team picked such a risky opponent in the first place. Green is a decent fighter - he should have picked some nobody for a tuneup like Hopkins did.

The Green fight was no tuneup. He signed it before the Hopkins fight and got paid a minimum of $3 million for it. He also would have added to his collection of worthless trinkets.

Great win for Green. I didn't know anything about Green prior to the fight so I boxrecced him and immediately found he had a quite decent punch. With RJJ's eternally suspect chin, I have no clue why he went after Green. Call me crazy but I think RJJ would have looked much better against Dawson. He should have waited for Dawson, who was coming off a win over Johnson.

Mad props to Green. He deserves all the credit cuz RJJ was in great shape and many were saying he was regaining a good bit of his old self.

Agreed. He definitely earned the win........He landed the punch he needed to and certainly finished in great fashion. But people.......Americans and otherwise.... are getting giddy over who he beat...but just remember when he beat him.

Let's see Green fight one of the alphabet champs at Crusierweight. Green vs Huck would be a stormer if Huck can successfully defend against Ola Afolabi (which I believe he can).
