No but he could already been number one had he faced and beat the top guys at 115 but for some reason he didnt fought the likes of Chocolatito,Estrada,SSR and Cuadras.

I hope he doesnt do the same at 118 and moves up before facing the likes of Nery, Oubaali and the winner of Casimero vs Tete.

No! Donaire is a ATG but is way past his best.

Yes I would agree with this as imo the criteria for PFP is not about resume as we all know one can have a big name on the resume but it doesn’t necessarily tell you that said big name was at the end of his career, been knocked out prior to fighting him and basically a shadow of the man that he was when he made the name for himself.
So re Crawford who didn’t really have any great opponents to fight in past divisions I’ve always maintained he’s worthy of his PFP status based on how he dealt with his opponents.Same thing applies to Lomo and like Crawford the eye tells you how good they are imo.
But re Inoue I think you make a great case for him overtaking both those based on how fast he puts his opponents away and it’s not just because he’s powerful as theirs plenty of powerful boxers who still struggle to put even the most ordinary opponents away.
Inoue clearly has power but he must have tremendous skill to be able to turn it on like a tap as we’ve seen before how even lesser opponents can raise their game and make it awkward on the night for the favourite.
This is why I added the caveat that Inoue needs to look good against Donaire to show he’s making quality fighters look bad.
Nobody else to my knowledge has quite the feared aura about em as Inoue does.Imo he has that aura that GGG had in his pomp where folk would mutter under their breath about what this young innocent looking guy is doing to people.I guess Rigo and Donaire had big reputations in their pomp as well and imo Inoue is already on his way to equalling those two and I’ve no doubt he will surpass both so long as he deals with Donaire as he ought to.

Funny one in that just like Manny who most of us felt was perhaps better off retiring after the Horn fight.Hes somehow turned it all on its head and has had a renaissance in his old age against good opposition.Guess we will truly find out tomorrow night if he’s still got more story to write but regardless of the result after losing to Frampton in a fight where he said he felt physically the weaker, smaller man.Hes surprised everyone inc himself at finding himself in this position to fight for world titles in a best of the division type tourney.
Thing is I feel for him somewhat as how unlucky is he to be facing “the monster” of the current boxing world?Knowing Donaire he will be prepared to go out on his sword against the young potential true great champion of the future.
You just know with Donaire that like Wlad he’s gonna give it his all and to try and test the young pretender to see if he’s got what it takes to claim the torch should Donaire offer it.

Only natural to compare to the current talk of the town Canelo and let’s just say I don’t have to wonder what handicap has been set and what other dodgy surprises are in store on fight night as Donaire is too humble to be associated with any of that stuff and in Inoue I just think he’s happy to settle things his own way.
So we’ve had Beterbiev v Gvozdyk and Taylor v Prograis and now Inoue v Donaire where none of us need worry about believing what we see.

Inoue KO over Donaire is more important than #1 P4P, because Rigondeaux 122 is next!
After he digests Rigo, he wants Vasyl....

One can argue that this 36 year old version of Donaire is a more formidable p4p fighter than the 36 year old Kovalev that Nelo fought. If Inoue gets rid of him in 3 rds or so, he’ll have a case for the #1 spot.

In the end though, between Inoue, Bud, Loma, Canelo and Usyk, It’s just a matter of preference.

Ridiculous. Walters should have been #1P4P for destroying a more prime Donaire by that logic.

Walters had 1 top relevant win entering that fight.

Inoue is already a top 5 P4P fighter at a minimum.

Rigondeaux beat Donaire before Walters. And I can't even recall who Walters beat before Donaire.

Well said. Nonito will be dangerous as long as he's still standing. I don't give him much of a chance but his left hook is serious business and Inoue hasn't really fought any punchers up at this weight sans Rodriguez and Inoue blitzed him early doors so we didn't really get a chance to see him test Inoue's whiskers with something huge. And Nonito is a whole other level of puncher to Rodriguez.

Yeah no deck stacking and all that other unsavoury business taking place here. Two real fighters duking it out like real macho men.
