If Nathan Cleverly wasnt good at LHW, why do so many top LHWs fight his former foes?

I like Nathan, and I felt bad for him in the Bellew fight. The Kovalev defeat obviously had a huge impact on him mentally. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but he shouldn't have gone to CW. Or he should have gone up in the 180's. Why did he bulk himself up to 200 pounds? I can't understand it. He's also put himself under a lot of pressure to lose the weight healthily and be in shape, with a scheduled fight next month. He needed to either come down slowly with another fight at CW, or he needed to take a year out. It seems as though he's rushing back, and it could end badly for him.

'Imagine' is all you can do when you want 'Zaggers to get beat actually.

Everyone knows a poor butt hurt troll like you is so upset about him because he destroyed someone you favored to beat him...probably more than one guy.

    46-0. Deal with it. :hi:

totally agree, since I'm not going to ever see him fight anyone live apart from the good ol Kessler and Lacy fights.

not my problem though, seems an issue for you though.

I think it's more down to the talent in the LHW division than if Cleverly was good or not.

If you're going by the level of talent at the present time or when Cleverly was a world champion then he wasn't bad at LHW at all.

Cleverly was a good boxer at the time given the talent of the LHW division outside of Kovalev.

I think he proved he would give anyone not named Kovalev trouble and beat them at the time.

its about your 95%, and furthermore this is a Clev thread that you brought Calzaghe into.

sorry for cold reality, deal with it.

for my part on this thread, Clev was pretty good but never world class.

A solid fighter indeed, Clev. Shame people feel the need to label anyone who isn't part of the pound for pound listings a 'bum' or a 'hype job'.

Cleverly was a decent boxer at LH but of course he wasn't good enough to mix it with the very top guys like Kovalev.

He had decent speed and a nice selection of punches. But he had a tendency to just stand in front of guys and take shots while tucked up behind his high guard, it was never going to be a style that would work against top boxers who could keep him off set with movement or big punchers like Kovalev or Stevenson.

He could have been better than he actually was because he was talented but those flaws in his defence and style would always see him come up short against elite opposition.

How can you make that statement? All he has proven that is he can beat fringe top 10 guys at best. The moment he faced a top level fighter, he got wiped out, his performance was pretty embarrassing to be honest. He has done nothing to suggest he can win against the likes of Child ****** Stevenson, Pascal, Hopkins, in fact I think he would lose to those guys comfortably. The rest, well, there is a huge quality drop off, so he would most likely beat them at the time. He looks a different fighter now though post Kovalev defeat, I wouldn't fancy him against any of those guys.

The guys below Kovalev weren't that great tbh.

I could see him beating all if not most. Hopkins and Stevenson would give him issues but at the time i could see him winning. This was at the time before Kovalev. When there were talks of him fighting Hopkins.

He might not be able to now, no.
