If there had been a Holmes rematch Larry would have had his torn left bicep healed up and stopped Kenny in 11. Which is what would have happened in the first fight, if not for that torn bicep.
And another interesting scenario would be if Foreman beat Ali in Zaire. Maybe Ken retires after fighting Quarry in 75 and concentrates on acting. He already made Mandingo and Drum in the mid 70's, and Sly Stallone wanted him to play Apollo Creed in Rocky.
Didnt they shoot Holmes up in the dressing room? I dont think he was feeling any pain for the first 10 rounds. It might have worn off but he had adrenaline at that point.
Kenny Norton was a really good heavyweight, real good. He was quick, strong, good defensively but also let his hands fly when he saw openings. The thing I like about him the most is that he was smart. An intelligent fighter. He had class both in and out of the ring. When you break it down he was really only lacking an extra tough neck. If he had a better set of whiskers I'm not sure who would have beaten him.
Norton in many ways is the guy who didn't get the breaks. Frazier beats Ali once, loses to him twice and many consider him a top 10 lock. Meanwhile Norton probably deserves 3 wins over Ali and no one cares
Honestly Norton being champion would be always a joke taking in count that Foreman was born so can he live a lie? shavers could take advantage of the situation like a scavenging hyena and bomb Norton out then Foreman arrives and ****s up both them
BINGO! BULL“S EYE! These sentences are worth a thread. The n=1 world beating punching monster Joe Frazier compared to chinny Norton....
