If Norton officially won the 3rd fight with Ali, does he rank ahead of Frazier?

This is right. He also had the style to frustrate Holmes. Norton was good against boxers who didn't have the power to drop him. Against aggressive punchers he was in trouble.

I wouldn't put him above Frazier, even if he did, due to the body of work he had, which doesn't compare to Joe's.

Ali may not have been totally shot at the time of the third go with Norton, but he'd slipped considerably from the rubber match with Frazier. He certainly was n't the same guy as he was circa 1972-74 which was when he was at his seventies best. All in all,Frazier fought a better Ali than Norton did over their two series because of Muhammad's fistic deterioration between Manilla '75 and Yankee Stadium '76.
