If only Edwin Valero was alive, he'd be steamrolling these fighters at 135/140...

Oh yes sorry because fighting Demarco a weight division below is a really accurate measuring tool to judge how he would do against bigger and better opponents...jeez, he died young and his ability hits stratosphere.:smoke

People thought he was the goods before he died.

Well if you believe there is no accurate measuring tool as to how good he was why did you make a load of predictions? :nut Shot yourself in the foot there.

You can be a great fighter without yet proving it, I'm pretty sure James De Gale would beat a lot of proven super middleweights, just because he hasn't actually beaten anyone of note as of yet, doesn't mean all the guys would beat him would it?

Shoot myself in the foot, i made a judgement from what i have seen in Valero and what i have seen in the 140lbsers, who has Valero beaten to suggest he could beat an accomplished fighters like Bradley, or what has he done, would he carry his power and speed up, would he even have been allowed to fight in the States. You speculate and I'll make judgements from the evidence i actually see in the 140lbers

From the evidence I have seen he would have beaten Ortiz in similar fashion to Maidana. Even if his power and speed did slightly diminish somewhat moving up, he'd still be faster and as strong/stronger than many of the guys you mentioned.

Watch McCloskey against Lauri, how easily he was dragged into a brawl, watch how Maidana's pressure gave Khan such issues, how Alexander's speed and power overcame Urango.

We're both speculating based on evidence.

Question for you, would De Gale beat Cleverly?

  5. Don't mind DOM, he doesn't know **** about boxing if he thinks McCloskey and Malignaggi beats Valero.

I know how you feel I use to say the same thing about Ike Ibeabuchi.....but at some point you just got to move on.

And in the case of Edwin......there really ain't no choice.

Pac wanted Soto as much as Soto wanted Pac but Arum, their common promoter wanted them to fight much later. The fight didn't happen purely for business reason and not because one fighter (Pac) ducked the other.:patsch

Pac has a far better reflexes and much faster hands than Valero but yeah, JMM countered him very well! It would be a wide UD win for JMM!

I thought so too, he was the real deal at 130 lbs. But to say that a fighter who had barely proven himself at 135 lbs would steamroll the very best fighters at 140 lbs and even the best at 147 lbs is downright silly!
