If only Edwin Valero was alive, he'd be steamrolling these fighters at 135/140...

  1. You were most definitely not clear, as I noted that you seemed to flip flop on your definition of "dominating". I suggest rereading what you wrote.

Regardless, DeMarco barely did anything relative to Valero, who landed the harder, cleaner punches in every round, sweeping my scorecard. That in my eyes counts as dominating. If you don't agree and want to play semantics, then go ahead. But I'm not going to keep arguing such petty matters and keep bumping this thread to dispute the definition of "dominating".

  2. That's true, but that was about 3 years ago against a clearly weight-drained Pacquiao. JMM has been in 2 wars since. Not to mention a failed attempt at 147.

the epitome of overrated, he smashed the bums he fought but fought nobody of any note, and as said earlier he has the rockstar effect of dying young etc.

  4. I was first sold on Valero because I saw the Mosquera fight... If you've seen it, then you'll know why Valero is rated so highly by some.

Mosquera wasn't all that, though. It isn't hard to look like a beast when matched right.

At 135 he might have been the top guy. He would've beaten Soto, Guerrero, Rios, and Katsidis for sure. Might have scored an upset over old man Marquez, but its not a certainty.

At 140 its a different story. I'm confident that Bradley would have beaten him, and probably Alexander as well. Maidana I think would have stopped him in a war.

Khan could possibly outbox him, but theres also a chance Valero would have starched Con.

He eventually breaks Ortiz mentally, most likely.

Pacquiao? LMAO! Yeah.... keep believing Valero would have a chance if you want to. Manny would have saved him the trouble of hanging himself, and instead would have served his wife justice by publicly executing him.

I'm waiting for the Soto Fan Club charter member, president, and treasurer to debate slugger now that the two respective biggest fans have appeared in the thread.

Soto is a fighter i like and respect a lot but at 135 the power isnt there as much and he could be susceptible

Bradley maybe, Bradley is not great in any category but he is a solid fighter and a work horse also Valero was wild and may eat good clean blows though Bradley has been down from lesser punchers

Alexander is probably too fast and would catch him like Urango

Khan idk either a Valero KO or Khan UD just depends how Khan holds up if he does he wins on points

Pacman no way, maybe at 130 but not vs the 135 and up version

valero would've stopped his wife on cuts earlier if the proposed fight against soto took place.
