I acually think he has the style to beat Margarito. This would be a great fight for legacy. Could see both fighters being successful because there styles clash whuch make for a great fight. Think Roger Mayweather- Julio Ceaser Chavez

If Margarito gets a few more big wins, most importantly against P-Will, i think a Mayweather-Margarito fight would become a Ali-Foreman or Leonard-Hagler type situation, although of lesser magnitude because those guys were internationally huge.

A situation where the ex-champion with the dazzling boxing style comes back to fight the much bigger and stronger reigning champ who ploughs through his opposition and looks like a monster in the ring. And like in those fights i mentioned, more than a few people would have concerns for the ex-champ's health and think he was gonna be badly hurt in there.

I really really hope this will still happen someday, i want my own generation's Leonard-Hagler, but i don't think it will happen.

I hear what you're saying, but neither Margarito nor Mayweather is or ever will be at the level of Leonard or Hagler. It would be a big fight, but to me Margarito/Williams II would be a much more interesting fight.

As long as Floyd still has his legs, he'll move around the ring and outbox the much slower Margarito.

Floyd would run more than Forrest Gump.

I'd pick Floyd to beat him but I'm sure the fight would be so ****ing terrible. He'd employ the same strategy against Marg. that he used against Baldo. Safety first. Oh well, a win is a win at the end of the day, boring or not.

    Worthy of reposting.
I on the other hand see it a bit differently.
I think Williams should be forced to go through either Mosely or Cotto before he gets a shot at Margarito after suffering an embarrassing loss to Quintana, one in which Williams was POUNDED for 12 rounds.
Of the two I feel Cotto has the style to beat Williams. Let him run, let him flail away, be tentative, Take no damage, wait him out then punish his body and take his head. Cotto can do this.

I don't expect Oscar will ever give Margarito the shot " he so richly deserves", however.
