and say the PPV does a projected of 1.4 million buys. Mayweather announces retirement right after allowing Pacquiao/Ortiz to be negotiated.

What should the purse split be?

IF Ortiz beats Mayweather & Floyd retires Golden Boy goes into in-house mode just like TR.
Expect any & everything to made with GB fighters Vs. Vic.

In other words why split the revenue w/Arum?

Well ortiz isnt exactly a solid trustful investment as we saw with the Maidana and Peterson fights. I honestly believe GBP really wanted to make PBF/Pac but Floyd just wasnt motivated to fight and left them hanging and even if Ortiz did beat Floyd he still wouldnt be a cashcow that would do 800,000 ppvs against some nobody.

You are correct, But a win over Mayweather & Vic becomes a household name.

Why should they split anything w/Arum?
(Strictly looking at it from a business standpoint.)

& it won't matter if Vic was to lose Vs. the contract GB fighter. (In-House)
Similar to what Bob has done with Manny. Put them in tough but keep it as a win/win for the promoter.

I rewatched ortiz vs berto last night and watched highlights of the peterson fight, Victors chances are slim to none, the only way I see him winning is if Floyd has lost a step and he lands a big shot and gets an accumaltion stoppage, Ortiz gets hit to much (especially in the second half of the fight) he doesn't have a jab and he bull rushes wildly at times, Floyd easily out boxes this kid and makes it look easy, look for a clueless and confused ortiz around the fifth round...i mean he couldn't finish berto who looked unable to avoid any punch, Andre's defense was just horrible and Lamont rocked him with the straight right and pull counter at will down the stretch, you do the math...

floyd knows that ortiz is an easy fight for him. watched the berto fight live and could have been tipped about the peterson fight.

The only way Ortiz can win the fight is if Mayweather slips in a puddle, uppercuts himself, falls back and knocks himself out.

First off, all *****S specially MichiganWanker VecArrow bald_dick and Spud1 will commit mass suicide. Purse split should be 60-40 for Pac and Vic will happily oblige....:hat

I think thats too generous for vic, 60-40 would give him about $20 million when hes only getting $3.5 million for Mayweather.

I think he earns it. Beating a HOF fighter in Floyd does that. Ok ATG but not top 40 at the moment but still Floyd is 8-1 favorite in this fight. That's gotta be the lowest sharing GBP would allow since they too have to make tons of money in this hypothetical match-up...

I'm cool with the 60/40. Ortiz has some leverage, he can go fight Khan. Pacquiao would be picking from the likes of Bradley, Cintron, or Jones.
If Ortiz beat Mayweather in exciting fashion, he'd be a full blown star at that point.

You probably think he earns it but it still wont happen. Its the DLH syndrome, whenever a fighter beats DLH they think they earn the same paydays as he does for everytime he fights.

Ortiz wont beat Mayweather, but if he can pull it off I think Mayweather continues on like RJJ in an attempt to get back what he lost. Ortiz would probably fight Manny and lose, then Ortiz would rematch Floyd. None of that will happen though.

What if Pac gets knocked out for a third time in his career by ole JMM in round 1, and Ortiz is knocked unconscious by Floyd? Does Pacquiao and his fans retire from the sport, and Ortiz and Berto rematch...or do we get the rematches from Pacquiao that we didn't get years ago?
