Ortiz is yet to be 25. I think he'd have plenty of life still left in him. But yes, it would be a likely sign that he can't get to and stay at the "very good" level amongst the top fighters in the sport. Berto III would be a good make. If not a third fight immediately, I still see him as being a guy who could be the biggest name on a PPV undercard. Ortiz vs. Alexander/Maidana loser, Ortiz vs. Malignaggi, etc.
He's still an exciting fighter though, there is a high probability that he will lose this fight. If Berto just fights smart, he will win this fight. I still think it's a mistake for GBP to throw him in there right away with Berto, but there are still match-ups for him if he loses. Maidana rematch, Peterson rematch, Khan, or Canelo at 154.
You mean when he loses. Victor can't adjust and Berto will. Berto by UD. As far what is next for Otiz, his star fell once he headbutted Mayweather and got punked out.
What If Berto Loses?? Anyone think of that? After all Victor beat Berto's ass the first time! It was his first fight @ 147! So now you idiots think Berto will beat a stronger Ortiz!? Hahahahaha
