These if, would coulda shoulda, distant dreams threads are just silly. Its like saying if wlad was 2 years younger he woulnd't have got KO'd by brewster, or if lewis was 2 years younger he wouldn't of got ko'd by rahman, an older lewis came back and ko'd rahman so what does that say about your imaginary theory? If ortiz was 2 years younger he could also have found him self in a very diffrent fight and still got ktfo, if ortiz was one week younger he might have ko'd wilder, if wilder was 5 years older he might have ko'd ortiz, The amount of scenarios you can make up is endless. These guy's could fight 10 times and the result is bound to be different at some point or another. People will make up any imaginary scenarios they can to take away some of the butt hurt they are feeling in their ass. Was ortiz past his prime? no doubt but wilder did what he had to do and beat a solid guy end of story. Your dammed if you do and dammed if you don't.
There is more the the jab than just throwing it. Ortiz threw a nice triple jab to set up his left and got KOd by Wilder because of it. Wilder took control of the space between him and Ortiz, thereby controlling Ortiz and the fight.
I used to find Welliver really really aggravating. I was genuinely relieved when his shot can crushing reign of terror finally came to an end.
It's just bizarre how Ortiz sans his PEDs is still the same force when he's off them as he is on them but other fighters are greatly diminished without their enhancements.
