Lets just say ortiz wins a bloody fight against Berto this weekend, with multiple knockdowns both ways, does he get his "Balls" Back by everyone on here?

    yes

i'm one of Ortiz's biggest critics but if even he LOSES in a ballsy fight i think he earns his balls back.

yep, if he makes it through a war, he deserves credit :good
People are always going to remember his quit job against marcos but if he proves himself in other bouts throughout his career he might not be remebered as a quitter

I hope he does, but I think people are too hard on Victor in the first place. I won't be surprised at all if Ortiz wins it, he's certainly the best opponent Andre ever faced.

Yeah, that's the only way to redeem himself. Win or lose, a brave showing in his first fight at a higher weight against a talented guy like Berto, should erase his 'no mas' sin.

But, you'll always get those nonsensical people who'll never let that go, no matter what Ortiz goes on to do.

They don't, but a chin is different to heart. You can't do much about the former, but you can with the latter. If Ortiz does get involved in war and goes out on his shield, it proves his mentality has improved from the Maidana fight.

Yes. Berto is a guy that has been mentioned as a possible Pac opponent. Beating him would be huge despite the hate they both get.

And like other people said giving a good account for himself would also be good for his rep. It would be better for his rep to go out and get KOd fighting a war than losing a boring decision. Maybe even better than winning a boring decision.
We know he has skills the heart is the thing he needs to prove to us.

Khan silenced most of his critics with the Maidana fight and Ortiz can do the same here.

Ortiz even taking this fight is impressive to me, now let's see what he is really made of.

That's what so many people are overlooking. It's a ridiculously tough test. Something which is as equally as tough as what any of the other 140 lot - Bradley, Khan, etc - have taken on in recent years.

Yeah I get what you mean.

I just feel that a chin isn't something you can improve, but at the same time, it is something you can make worse (if that makes sense). Khan hasn't necessarily improved his chin, he's just improved his conditioning and his ability to deal with being hurt.

ortiz probably the biggest under achiever in boxing! maybe its his heart thats the problem but what ever it is its holding him back cus he has the tools to go all the way. the way he out brawled maidana at times then got knocked to the ground so easily is indicitive of his huge potential and huge flaws. nobody including cayo, khan, and morales knocked maidana down three times. he has power, speed and skill he just needs to believe in him self a little more.

Nobody would have criticized Ortiz if he would have taken on a fringe contender in his first fight at 147 especially after the tough draw against Peterson.

Jumping up a weight class and fighting a legitimate belt holder who brutally KO'd his last two opponents is ballsy as ****.

I'm pulling for the kid. I like Berto and expect him to win but there is a part of me that wants Ortiz to pull off the upset.

I've got this strange feeling that one guy gets blown out early in this fight.
