if oscar dela hoya only fights one final time, who would you want him to fight?

Thats a fair shout. I'm not one of these DLH haters but when he held WBC/WBA titles at 154 he should have given Winky a shot.

Now though I'd like to see him fight the winner of Cotto/Margo at 147. I really hope DLH hasn't lost his ambition to make welter again now that PBF has retired.

Pavlik because I know that Oscar is only looking at the smaller guys. For a change he should fight someone who is bigger than him.

Oscar still has one massive fight in him, I'd favour Cotto over him but you never know.

 

The fight with Trinidad was very controversial, DLH should fight him one more time !!

 

I never understood why Trinidad didn't just drop back down to 154 after he lost to Hopkins. A rematch with DLH would have been huge.

 

A Trinidad rematch, Mosley a third time or Kelly Pavlik.

De La Hoya/Trinidad was such a big fight and ended in such a debatable way, there should have been a rematch years ago. De La Hoya deserved to win the first fight and if he retires with a W over Tito on his resume it will do so much for his legacy. This fight still needs to happen even though both are past it.

Another Mosley fight would intrigue me too. it's not the greatest fight outthere, but they are the two best welterweights of the modern era, so for the historical significance, I'd like to see them fight again. De La Hoya got jobbed in the second fight so deserves another fight. It would be another great bout too.

And the final choice is Kelly Pavlik. This would be the same type of fight as De La Hoya/Chavez. Pavlik is the new kid who needs a win over a big name to make him the next superstar in boxing. If they ran a 24/7 series, got 1,000,000 PPV buys and mainstream attention then boxing would have it's next big star. Simple as that. Pavlik needs a megafight. De La Hoya can offer him that.

 

i dont know if it's just me or not....but do you guys really, i mean REALLY see oscar fighting pavlik at 160???.......i hear alot people saying they should fight, and i honestly dont know why....i mean i may bet on the wrong fighter sometimes, but i'm pretty sure oscar would die fighting kelly at 160.... and i dont even really like the guy...thats a mismatch if i ever heard one
