    What about Valreo?

He's about to be Valero's madatory by years end ... he's a couple defenses of his regional belt and an eliminator away from fight Valero ...

Another great fight for Gamboa ... Valero has a good amateur background and was almost in the olympics.

He's not a chump and I think that Valero can beat Pacquiao ...

    Supernatural hahaha...
lets test Gamboa first, fit him against top dogs in the div before thinking of PAC...
if he fought PAC this year it will be a TKO/KO

how quickly gamboa can react on the backfoot is what i think would determine this fight. if he is as good on the backfoot as he is on the offensive then i think he could rip pac apart. but thats alot of pro experience to overcome

care to elaborate why? most people here say that guzman and jmm will beat pac and i have no problem with that. pac has always had problems with technical boxers who use precision punching rather than trading toe-to-toe. even gamboe gets a mention as a possible match up for pac because he has good technival skill. valero on the other hand is as crude as can be. he has only faced one fighter who is worth mentioning and he has never been hit hard in his entire career. why would he beat pac?

I don't think Pacman should fight Gamboa this year, he should go first
to fight for the much proven fighters in Lightweight division with the
likes of Casamayor, Campbell and Juan Diaz.

How do you suppose Valero will beat pacquiao? He's slow, predictable, throws wide shots and has a shaky chin. He can't fight on the backfoot at all and Pacquiao's straighter, harder shots will cut right through the middle of his non existent defence. Pacquiao would KO him early, as would Gamboa.

Out of all the guys at 130, i think only guzman, jmm, and soto could beat pac

Here's Gamboa vs Alexey Tischenko (One of the best amateur's in the world) in the World Amateur Championships. This is 1 year after the Olympic games and Gamboa had moved from Flyweight to Featherweight. Awesome performace by Gamboa against one of the greatest amateur's in the world (who also happens to be a fair bit bigger then Yuri).

Although he lost, i felt the judges were completely off. At times during the fight they were giving Tischenko points when they weren't even engaged. Personally i scored it 52 - 33 for Gamboa, although admittedly it's quite hard to score due to their handspeed.

Still a great performance by Yuriorkis Gamboa :happy

even so, he's tough and i think he'll last 12 rounds with pac, pac is also tough but i think he'll make it a close fight.
