It's difficult to gauge at the moment, I'd have to put a lot of thought into it. I find it extremely hard to rate modern fighters, because for example if Pac retired, Margarito and Cotto would most certainly still be fighting. And we have no idea what they might go onto achieve, and how they would stack up in a list of ATG welterweights.
so are you saying that he would be ranked depending on the achievements of cotto and marg until they retire.. just an honest question...
Not soley. What I would rank a fighter on is their resume, H2H and ability. In order to rank on their resume, I'd need to have some indication of where Cotto and Margarito would rank on a list of welterweights when they retire. Until they have done so, I wouldn't have any idea where they would feature on that list. Beating Cotto and Margarito would be too extrordinary wins whatever happens though. But their are so many intangibles, how would Manny beat them? What sort of physical and mental condition would Cotto and Margarito be in? When would this fight be? How impresssive would they look in recent performances prior to the fight? All these things would need to be answered for me to give a really good and accurate indication of where Manny would rank on an ATG list. He won't beat either of them though! :smile
well al he would have to do is fight the winner of Cotto-Margarito. he doesnt need to fight both. but if he was to Beat Mayweather expect for Cotto and Margarito he would pass almsot everybody up.
