Pac will never be as skilled as Floyd, but if he does beat Oscar, he may deserve to be called "greater" by virtue of greater achievements and greater resume. It's still very close though, I think Pac needs a few more big wins before he can be called greater with any serious conviction.

IF they fight we will definitely find out. Till then Pacquiao has a stronger case than Mayweather as far as "greatness" is concerned.

Greatness has a lot to do with resume and longevity. Mayweather is more skilled than Pacman no doubt, but that's not enough in this case, imo.

Of course if Pacquiao loses to DLH and especially if he loses big, then things will be different.

other than stabbing DLH in the ring, any win by PAc over DLH is greater than Floyds win.

doesnt matter if its controversial ala JMM as long as its not robbery..remember that DLH fought Floyd well until he decided not to jab..because he didnt feel like it was a night for jabbing  it was a clear decision but it was close.

If you read my post closely, you will realize what I was saying was that Pac may be considered greater after Oscar, but that it will take a few before it is a generally accepted truth. A less skilled fighter must have significantly greater accomplishments and resume before he is considered greater than a more skilled fighter. Floyd has greater longevity at the top than Pac at this stage, he was a world champ continuously for 10 years and has won more titles than Pac, he was world p4p#1 for far longer, and just now his resume is deeper though Pac has the better single wins. As I said, Pac can become greater, but IMO it will take some time and some more wins to make it so.

I beg to disagree, knowing that there are already people who are placing Pac at equal footing as a fighter NOW with Floyd.. There is no way in hell that if PAC beats DLH that he wouldnt surpass Floyd in greatness.. I just cant argue against it if ever happens...unless Floyd makes a comeback and beats Margo

There's little to gain here, as no title to win, DLH isn't a ranked WW, and simply too old, as Freddie Roach admitted. But Manny's resume is very good, so with or without the historically insignificant DLH fight, you might have a point if you say that Manny has ALREADY surpassed PBF's achievements - and he's not finished yet. In Pacquiao you have a fighter who constantly faced the best out there, and he can still fight JMM or Hatton after this money fight, there are champions and P4P-ers out there to beat to have the clearly better resume. So this fight has little to do in a PacMan vs. Floyd H2H.

That's my point - you may consider him greater, I may consider him greater, many people might, but it is still not going to be a generally accepted truth, like for instance someone saying Pernell Whitaker is a greater fighter than Floyd, which 90% of serious and knowledgable boxing fans would agree with. Only a few more big wins would mean that Pac has accomplished substantially more than Floyd in terms of achievement and resume, and he needs substantially more to be widely accepted as greater than a more skilled fighter.

The posters who say PAc is already greater than Floyd can't truly be relied on as having an objective opinion. Pac does nothing better than Floyd. There isn't one category that PAc does anything better than Floyd. He hasn't fought better comp, he has lost fights, you guys are truly the worst lol. But I know that you don't like Floyd. It's ok, because historians will always rate Floyd over Pac. Always.

I'm not being a hater or anything but quite honestly, if DLH loses this fight it says more about his current state than the greatness of Manny Pacquiao.

He should NOT lose this fight.

If he beats oscar i think ii would rank pacquaio higher than floyd, however as it is floyd is quite a bit higher in an ATG list to my mind
