if Pac beats Oscar, is he a GREATER fighter than Floyd?

I find it completely ridiculous when people say MAB was past his prime going in against Pacquiao in the first fight, the second fight sure but the first?, not in my opinion.

MAB lost fair and square and the reason he looked horrible losing the first time is Pacquiao and his abilities and not that Barrera was shot. Barrera was actually giving Pacquiao a good fight but Pacquiao's speed, stamina and power was too much to handle for Barrera, not to forget that he's a southpaw as well.

Barrera was P4P#3 and also 29 years old, hardly shot in my opinion, even his speed and stamina in the fight proved he's hardly shot. The rematch he was clearly shot and out of it, but the first fight was a fair clean victory for Pacquiao. Barrera proved all of that was bull**** when he stepped in the ring with Morales after this fight, NO ONE gave him a chance there based on the talks about him being "past it" because Pacquiao made him look bad but he got the victory and captured the WBC title. Please note that he also kept that title till he met Marquez THREE years later and even that fight was very close(Marquez was top 5 P4P, if not a clear #2 at that point) with many scoring it for Barrera. A clear fair knockdown scored by Barrera wasn't counted properly in that fight then he met Pacquiao again and people immediately raise the "he's shot, make sure you don't give Pac any credit" flag, which I agree with in the 2nd fight, but 1st I don't.

Thank you! people gets so hyped up without reading the thread...IF PAC beats DLH!...would he have achieved more than Floyd? the answer is most people will say yes! Just ****in go to Mexico and ask that question, anywhere really.

Again Floyd will UD PAC easy or even stop him ala Hatton if they ever fight..

why is the pac vs PBF poll head to head 4 to 1 in favor of floyd and this is 2-1 in favor of pac...floyd is smaller than ODH so if pac can't beat floyd he is simply not as great as floyd...fairly simple logic

Pac will have greater legacy than PBF if he wins against Oscar.
Still PBF is the greater boxer.

quote=CarlesX71. IMO both men's resumes are exceptional, with Pac having a slight edge cause he started at a much more lower weight than Mayweather, but has enjoyed similar multi-weight success (the guy started at 106 and now he's fighting at 147) and has won multi-weight titles. Having lost (especially if that's early in your career) doesn't automatically mean you're worst than an undefeated fighter, that's like saying Ottke was better than Eubank or Benn just cause they had lost and he hadn't.

Again, you are defending PAc's early losses. We are talking about who is greater ok. Everything factors in. What you said about Ottke, Eubank and Benn has nothing to do with anything.

    2. I don't belittle the fact that Floyd has more talent/skills. But as you also said, one factor alone doesn't make the difference when we talk greatness. I can't say Mayweather is greater just because he has more skills. It's fair to say that both men are equally great. Sry if we don't see this eye-to-eye, it happens.

I don't post with people to see eye to eye. I don't rank fighters over other fighters because of one factor.

    3. First of all who is "us" and "we"? I'm discussing with you, not with "them". :good My take on the "0" is this: Of course it is very important to keep your record "clean", the "zero" is very meaningful. My only point is that sometimes fighters WITH LOSSES are greater/better than fighters with NO losses, or FEWER losses.

Sorry, but that analogy doesn't ring true when we compare PAc and Floyd. We are talking about Pac and Floyd, nobody else.

    4. Mayweather's talent is NOT a minor detail. And for the record, I honestly like Mayweather a lot more than I did when he was active. I have actually defended him on ESB!

I mean that's all fine and great, but this is a comparison of who is greater. Do you really think PAc is GREATER than Floyd. In all seriousness...

    With or Without DLH:

    Greater Fighter - Pac

    Greater Boxer - Floyd

Greater Human Being - Pac hands down.

    No. Not even close.

This fight is an event more than a boxing match and the winner has probably already been found. The question is not who is better, but whether Oscar thinks his fans will discount this period of his carreer like Roy's fans discount the latter part of his carreer (Evander too etc.)? Does it bring in more money for future fights if Pac wins? Will a Pac win make a PBF fight seem really good and make everyone huge cash?

These are the questions! All is scripted and in the end Oscar will make a fortune on this, and on the things this helps set up. But imo. there is no more real legacy involved than there is in a WWE 'fight'.

And you got all your info watching television as far as who is the greater human being lol. Floyd never lost or was knocked out. Floyd the better talent, and the greater resume.
