This would be a tall order for Pac.

But you could not deny his courage.

And yes, it would be an acceptable alternative.

What's with the "would you be okay with it?"

Who the hell cares if we're okay or not. He's the one getting in the ring, he should be okay with it.

I'd be OK with it and I think Pac has a good chance of winning the fight. Sergio Martinez has human eyes. Just like Pac's previous opponents, Sergio will see a blur when he fights Pac, unless of course he possesses slo-mo vision. :nut

    No, you are wrong.

Pacman has to pass everything he does past me first, in writing.

Only fight left for Pacman is Mayweather. Martinez is too much for Pacquiao (though it is possible). Pacquiao already proved he can beat(not just a win) these big guys. Pacquiao doesn't even need to fight anymore. He's only fighting because he still enjoys boxing and for his fans. Or JMM trilogy is a good fight too just to show JMM how much Pac has become since their last fight(remember Pac has been dealing with the big guys lately and has shown to improve his counter-punching ability and accuracy).

even at 154, pac would be severely out-sized. pac just weighed 144.6 in his last fight while martinez was 157.5. pac would be giving away 20 pounds or more in this fight during fight time.

Didn't he give away something like 17 pounds for his last fight? Stretching to 20 is certainly possible for him.

But Martinez is active and coming off a good win.

There's no way in hell Pacquiao will fight a slick boxer in Martinez who's got the complete package. The only way Pacquiao fights a middleweight at 157 or 156 pounds is either face Sturm or Sebastian Sylvester cause Sturm is way too feather fisted and Sylvester is too 1 dimensional.

yes 148-165 is 17 pounds difference. imagine a 154 fight aganst sergio, pac is already saturated at 148 max. anything more, he will slow down. meanwhile, martinez will probably weigh-in 168 or more during fight night and still retains his speed.

It would be an absolute spectacle. If the mayweather fight cant be done, then the a bout at middleweight is the only thing left for Pac. What is the point of fighting JMM or anyone else at WW/LWW. He may as well retire. Mosely is damaged goods, everybody else has been beaten.

Has to be Floyd or a middleweight. Those are the legacy building fights.

I'd have no issue with him fighting him there and think beating martinez's at that weight would be his greatest ever victory. However it should not be sanctioned for the middleweight title unless its scheduled at 160lb. Ditto that for mayweather as well if he fights martinez around that weight

Pacs can't handle Martinez..There is a difference then being big and fast, instead of just big. Martinez would dominate Pacquiao over 12 rounds.
