No. However, if he loses, then Marquez win his next fight, Marquez would be no.1. If Pacman wants to be no.1 again it'd have to be against another top LW or Ricky Hatton.

I really, really want Pac to win this, but have prepared myself for a possible career ending loss. That's the worst that can happen. Hopefully, Oscar will win on PTS and Manny can carry on much as he did before, knowing this was a pointless venture boxing wise, but one that made him a lot of money.

 

im a pac fan but if he'll lose, which is very likely, i have no choice but to drop him, to #2 (if by decision) or #3 (if by ko/tko). a loss should always have a consequence imo

 

No. He's fighting a guy whose best weight is 24 pounds over his best weight. On top of that, I rate Calzaghe and Marquez pretty far behind Pacquiao. Even if he loses by first round knockout, Pacquiao is still #1, IMO.

 

considering he has everything against him going into the fight no he shouldn't be dropped down the list.

 

I'd drop him a notch.. hard to claim the number 1 spot coming of a loss...the current #2 gets elevated until Pac beats another quality opponent. Jmm is my number #2.
A win over any opponent that is equal or more dangerous than Casa right now should do it.

 

i don't believe that mayweather should have been dropped if he had lost to oscar and neither should manny.
