He would be very popular on the West Coast. He trains in LA and there is a large Philippino community on the west coast. So it makes since that is where he'd be from. Boxing in the U.S. is not as big as it used to be. The U.S. has not had a national boxing star that everyone knew not just boxing fans since Oscar De La Hoya. Before that it was Mike Tyson. It is diffcult for a non heavyweight to catch the intere nations attation. Even Floyd Mayweather is best known in boxing circles. If it was not for the Pacquiao/Mayweather drama I don't think the non boxing fans would have heard of him or at least be ble to ID his photo. The same goes for Manny Pacquiao.

    bigger than PBF ....yes
not bigger than De la Hoya yet ...... he still has more to do to be bigger than Oscar. Oscar was a huge draw.
Will never be bigger than Tyson.....tyson was on everything ..... even remember when he got out of jail twas huge... even today mike is still big. to be honest i wish he did more to support & promote the sport. i dont feel he does enough.

He has probably already overtaken Floyd in the US, or is atleast on equal footing, and he's not needed any WWE or DWTS appearances. Worldwide he definately should be more well known than Floyd, if you conducted a poll among the masses. Worldwide he might be more well known than DLH was too. Though in the US he still has a little more to do. DLH was PPV phenomemon for a hell of a long time.

In the context of the question, if he was American he would be like Oscar in that he fought everyone but, with the W's instead of L's Oscar was accustomed to in big fights, Pac would be more highly regarded. However, with no Gold Medal hype to launch his career, being a smaller fighter and considering he actually needed the exposure of fighting Oscar to become a megastar himself, who knows if he would be bigger? Probably not. Hype goes a long way in the US

He'll never get as big as Tyson. For a small foreign fighter with limited english it's amazing how far he's come though. And it's all been through what he's done in the ring, no hype or controversy in his rise

Both Floyd and Pac have surpassed DLH in a sense.

Both have higher PPV averages. (I think)

It's like Devin Hester of football. Devin's only played a few years but he's clearly the best return man in the league EVER.
