THere is a difference. Floyd is a WW, PAC is not. PAC is a Jr MW who never claimed to be a WW unlike Floyd. Floyd has many fights at 147 and PAC has one. If people where calling out floyd at a higher weight and Floyd didn't want to fight them at their weight division he wouldn't be ridicouled for proposing a catch weight.

    Yes he would be.

Floyd has had 4 fights at 147. And remember according to the haters. He takes the easy route, so would taking the easy route actually help him?

 True....its Floyd! But I guess it comes with the territory. When you are "The man" you are going to catch hate. Just as PAC is.

    I love Pac but

If nothing is different at 145 to 147 then why are they fighting at 145?

    To drain Cotto.

145 propsed by Cotto in order to make the fight. The stance of Roach and PAC have been that he's a Jr WW, not a full fledge WW. Cotto wants PAC and given the fact that they are in two seperate divisions they meet in the middle. If Cotto can't loose 1 pound from what he weighed in agaisnt Josh then he needs to reconsider being a WW for his own health. Cotto looking to fight PAC is a huge opportunity and he has a huge advantage no matter if they faught at 144 or 142 which Roach initially wanted. By fight night Cotto will be a good 10 to 15 lbs heavier.

If they see it as such a huge advantage then why do they want the fight in the first place?

They were the ones that said they want Cotto or Mosley after Hatton.

Roach and Pac went after Cotto

Why? Because Cotto looked horrible against Clottey and they know his weight issue.

Mosley was available the whole time and they ignored him.

    I wonder why?

Making Cotto come down to 145 is to try to drain Cotto. There's no way around that fact.

BIG FIGHTS! PAC has been placing himself at big disadvantages for a few years now in the name of buliding a legacy and creating mega events. Cotto and Shane have been saying they wanted PAC for sometime now especially after the Hatton fight. PAC and his team have always looked for the big names. Unfortunately the BIG names are not in jr WW.

Roach and PAC didn't go after Cotto b/c Cotto was there wanting to get a peice of PAC. They were just happy that Cotto won so this fight could be made. After all Cotto is a BIG name. Cotto didnt look horrible against Josh....he did his thing. Sure it was a close fight but honestly I was calling for Cotto to loose. Josh seem to have the size and style to upset Miguel and Miguel proved his worth that night.

Shane is a problem for anyone at almost any weight. But he's also a Golden Boy fighter whom Arum has problems with. Arum is the one who really wants the PAC vs Cotto fight to be made.

You can't make a man do anything he doesn't want to do. Cotto is the one who suggested 144 or 145....PAC and Roach simply accepted his demands of the catch weight. If Cotto isn't a true WW and really a Jr MW then he needs to make the jump and stop trying to be a 147 lbs fighter. And for what reason is Cotto "struggling" to make 147?:think Obviously its to hold an advantage over the other Welter weights who don't struggle.

And if that is the case that just means he'll be even bigger agasint the smaller PAC.

Big fights or not. Mosley was there for awhile and it was a big fight.

Pac saw how bad Cotto looked and jumped after the chance. Even then if he wants to make him come down.

If 145 is no different then 147 why are they fighting there?

    So that Cotto isn't 100%.

cotto agreed at 145, what are you nitpicking? does it mean that you know cotto's body much more than cotto and his team?

Castillo teams also said they could make 135 fine, then they weighed 138.

Cotto looks sick on the scales.
