Cotto was a self admitted fat kid. started in the boxing gym to become healthy. making weight is part and parcel to his whole boxing existence. mentally the catchweight works in both fighters favor for it is the weight both agreed to and are confident with.
I know beyond a shadow of a doubt who the winner will be. however, i'm not the kind to shout such valuable info in some free forum. tips from daydachamp cost.

Why anyone would question Pac's greatness is beyond me.:huh

As far as I'm concerned his greatness has already been established, from now on it's just a matter of how many levels of "Greatness" he will move(up or down) depending on his next couple of performances!

    :huh

Oscar fought at 154 pounds and Manny at 135, so 147 was the catchweight.

Besides, Oscar was the draw in that fight.. he set the demands. In this fight, Manny is the draw. He doesn't need Cotto as much as Cotto needs him. So if Cotto wants to fight the p4p #1 in the world, he's gotta do it on his terms.

Like you said, it's only two pounds. Cotto seems small for a welterweight. He made 140 for years. He can definitely make 145. Cotto shouldn't nitpick over two pounds, especially if he can comfortably make it. Hell. if Pac really wanted to be a dick, he can even ask for 143. Pac has plenty of other options for big-money fights. Cotto doesn't have as many and will have to settle on Pac's terms.

If DLH was willing to meet Pac halfway, the least Cotto could do is the same and drop two damn pounds.

Pac cut weight to 142. He outweighed DLH on fight night.

So Pac has to try to limit their rehydration so its fair? That's the biggest load of bull**** I've ever heard.

If Pac doesn't want to fight someone at 100% the don't fight them.

If Floyd forced COtto to fight at 145 would you not be mad?

I don't know why I did. I think I might of looked at the Morales fight and saw 144 and 129(for Morales) or I have no idea but that was wrong. Surprised I didn't catch myself.

Pac cut weight to 142?? You don't have a clue what you're talking about. Fail.

He outweighed Oscar because Oscar and his team ****ed up his weight-cutting. It's practically unheard of that someone can only rehydrate 1.5 pounds in 24 hours.

Floyd has been fighting at 147 (and above) for years. Pac has fought over 140 once and couldn't even get to close to the weight limit on the scales. Cotto shedding 2lbs won't affect him majorly, but it will at least limit his rehydration weight.

If Cotto weighs in at 160 on fightnight, and Pac weighs 148, the difference will be massive. If you knew your stuff and had seen Gatti v Gamache, you would understand the importance of capping rehydration weights.

It's obvious you don't understand this whole debate at all, so you should probably sit this one out or risk exposure.

if he didn't cut weight to 142 then why did he weigh 149 on fight night? :patsch

I guess he didn't really weigh 148 against Hatton either.
Im not blaming Pac for that.

Yea but Floyd only fights small guys according to you, so him fighting there for years ( 4 fights ) shouldn't be an issue. Floyd weighs as much as Pac.

I know but weight difference is part of boxing.

Floyd would be outweighed by Cotto as much as Pac would be but I dont see you saying Floyd should make these guys fight at a catchweight.
You wrote this long ass thing without answering my question.

If Floyd who weighs as much as Pacquiao made Cotto fight at 145 would you be mad?

I don't care that he fought at WW for 4 fights, you think he's fought only small guys so how would fighting at WW help him?

I apologize for calling them hypocrites but I wont apologize for the weight difference thing.

It's part of boxing. No ones making a big deal about the same weight difference that would be put onto Floyd for fight Cotto.

Cotto would have the same weight advantage over Floyd that he would Pac.

Seriously, you are really embarrassing yourself here. You clearly have no conception of fighters' weight fluctuations in order to fight. Hence my advice to butt out till you had learned about it.

Floyd only fights small guys according to me?? Fail. I have eyes. I can see that Baldomir and De La Hoya were bigger than him. However, Pac is not the same weight as Floyd, and he can never make welterweight. When Floyd fights at 147, he weighs in at 147 or more. Pac weighs in at 142. Again, you don't understand the weigh-in and rehydration process, so you'd be as well shutting up and doing some reading.

Great answer. Track down Gatti v Gamache. There is no need for Pac to fight Cotto being outweighed by 12lbs when he can and should and probably will limit Cotto's rehydration weight so he is only outweighed come fightnight by around 5-8lbs.

No, he wouldn't. Floyd would weigh more on fightnight than Pac. Also, at this point Floyd has considerable experience of fighting rehydrated welterweights. Pac doesn't.

Floyd doesn't weigh the same as Pac though you simpleton. When has Floyd ever weighed in at 142lbs for a welterweight fight?? You don't have a clue!

Yawn. Baldomir at 147 and Oscar at 154. Judah had been at ww for years, Hatton was a welterweight champ and would probably weighed 155+ on fightnight.

I am now desisting to feed the troll until he has the foggiest idea about the weigh-in and rehydration fightnight process because until then all I am going to get is a bunch of dull Mayweather bias and absolutely zero informed comment. :good

:lol: You clearly have no idea how weight flux works. Pac has weighed 149and 148 1/2 back to back in his past two fights.

He weighed 142 for whatever reason. Both Pac and Manny fight at 149 on fight night. That's a fact.

So by making Cotto cut an extra lb or 2 is going to limit how much he puts on :lol::lol::lol: False.
False. Floyd weighs 149 on fight night like Pac does.

Just because he weighed in at 142 doesn't mean ****. They both weigh 149 on fight night. They are the same weight. HELLO is your brain working?:hi:

You clearly have no idea how it works.

Look at their fight night fights. Both 149. Hmm I wonder if that means they weigh the same. :patsch

Floyd Mayweather does not always weigh 149 on fightnight. I'm away back to the Classic, this is boring. Eze, you do not understand the weigh-in and rehydration process at all, and no amount of emoticons is going to hide that from anyone who reads your ill-informed post. Ta-ta!

Yes he does. Are you stupid?

Mayweather doesn't pack on extra weight like most WWs do.
