I agree. I'ma pac fan and even I wondered why he needed a catchweight.

    Cotto isnt even that big/strong.

Regardless. Manny knocks him out cold like he did Hatton.

true, but pac was fighting top guys in lower weight divisions....floyd had to work his way up before even getting a shot at elite guys at 130

but if the 2 lbs is nothing from what everyone says, then why make it at 145?

Clearly by making Cotto or Mosley come to 145 they are weakened and that is seen as leveling the playing field in some peoples eyes.

Im sorry but if either aren't 100% thats not a fair fight which clearly Pac and company are trying to make sure happens by making the fight at 145.

Again, if the 2lbs is nothing then why does it have to be at 147? What is the difference? Absolutely nothing!

But clearly there is an issue and that is making Mosley or Cotto weaker by draining extra weight.

Look at castillo who only had fought at 135 prior and only needed to cut an extra couple lbs and failed to do so.

    What?

Pac had to work his way up for basically 4 years before beating Sasaskul for the WBC title. He fought no one that had a good record before that unless you want to count Chockvivat who's whole record is padded.

Pacs the same weight at 147 that he is at 140. There's no difference.

Because Cotto is not DLH and he won't offer the same amount of money/attention an Oscar fight will.

Roach made it clear even before they fought DLH that they're going back to 140 after it and staying there. Nothing should be surprising here. Pacquiao doesn't belong at 140 let alone 147, if you can't see that then you must have issues.

Cotto called out PAC. He wants PAC, he fights on PAC's term.

This thread is getting stupid. The bigger guy is the one who initiated the challenge and even threw out the weight. So no one is crying about a much bigger boxer just coming down 2 lbs to fight a smaller boxer.

Cotto wanted the fight. So stop the crying about this 2 lbs.

Great??? Who said so? Right now he is the best fighter pound for pound being great is another thing.

Why asking for a catchweight? Because he has already climb up six divisions and his team thinks he has already reached his limit. Every fighter will always be bounded by physical limitations . . . that's a fact. :deal

Now . . . Lighten up and educate yourself.

Cotto declined Floyd at 140 and was never ready nor available at 147.

Zoo fought for showtime while Floyd fought for HBO. the networks have come together for two mega fights. And Floyd was not a mega star yet.
