bottom line is you're again assuming that cotto is draining himself at 145 lbs which he isn't..

    Well let's see.

Cotto already looks horrible at weighs in.

The average body can cut around 8-12 lbs. Pass that you need to be in great physical condition year round or be genetically gifted. Cotto does/has neither.

Roach clearly sees that if he can get Cotto to 145 that that will effect him.

Because if nothing is going to be different at 145 that 147 then what the **** are they fighting at 145 for?

    Let's say Cotto isn't drained at 145.

He still weighs his normal 158 on fight night. And Pac weighs his normal 148/149.

At 147 both are going to weigh 158/148 on fight night. So the only reason they are going to 145 is because Roach clearly knows that Cotto will hurt.

You obviously can't answer my question.

If there is no difference between 145 and 147 why are they forcing Cotto at 145?

They both are going to weigh the same on fight night no matter if they weigh in at 145 or 147.

So tell me. If nothings different why at 145?

    You fail.

If nothing is different at 145 than at 147 why are they fighting at 145?

Clearly you have no answer to help your argument anymore.

The difference between 145 and 147 is that Team Pacquiao is hoping that at 145 lbs, Cotto is less likely to reach 160 lbs come fight night and thus minimize (not eliminate but just lessen) the weight advantage of Cotto over Pacquiao. Nothing more, nothing less.

Again, if such "coming down in weight results to weight drain" principle is a well known notion, how come almost nobody cried foul about it prior to the Dela Hoya-Pacquiao fight. That Dela Hoya would be weight drained because he is going down to a division he hasnt fought at for years. What makes it worse supposedly was that he is old already. Despite that, majority gave Dela Hoya the nod to demolish Pac no matter what. And yet here we are today and the "weight drained" notion suddenly becomes the favorite term of every Tom, Dick and Harry and is being applied to a young boxer who is just being asked to lose 1 pound from his recent weigh-in weight.

If thats the case. Team Pacquiao is a hypocrit because Manny has outweighed opponents by 10+lbs before.

it's not as bad as trying to make marquez move up 9 pounds being bloated and too slow at a higher weight.

Really seems to me like people are looking for a way out when/if cotto looses this fight. They need that coin in their pocket that they can flip come fight day just to tell everyone, well the only reason Cotto lost is because he was struggling with the weight.

Look, Pac is the big money draw in this fight. Like it or not, that puts the ball in his court when it comes to negotiations. Hes a smaller dude moving up and only asking Cotto to come down 2 pounds. And if im not mistaken, wasnt it Cotto who said he would fight Pac at 145 if it gets him the fight????

Im not a pac ****, and im not a Cotto nut hugger. but jeez. . just let the ****ing fight happen on the terms that it is negotiated to happen on. Both of these guys are monsters in the ring, if Cotto looses or visa versa. . it will simply be because the better fighter won, not because somone was forced to take a **** before they stepped on the scales to drop 2 measly pounds.
